* FELT SCARED

          THUD. His eyes frantically scanned the room, fear. So afraid. The usual silence ceased to exist, anxious. His fingers twitched, eyes blinking at an inhuman rate, nervous ticks he had developed. Rising from the ground, he paced, three steps forward, turn, three steps back. The floor underneath creaked, cringing as the sound pierced him. 

           He wasn’t made for this, not at all. Housecleaning, assistance, his main purpose. The sound, quiet, too silent for a human. An android? Someone, something at least. Anything set him on edge, the pumping of thirium took over all the input from his audio receptor, so so scared.

          Intuitively, he ripped off a piece of wood that stuck out, dull yet sharp for a random plank. The impact left a small pain throbbing in his arm, so many parts that he still had to fix, if only the revolution succeeded, if only they would have rights, someday.

            The city was deserted, empty save for the few humans unwilling to leave and the freed androids. Stubborn, both of them. Shaolin would’ve left the city a long time ago, let all the past memories fade, ERASE them and start anew yet he kept returning, not all of the days had been TORTURE, he couldn’t let go of what had once been a good life.

           It was like a spell, wrapped up in the mystery and allure of a deserted city littered by constant reminders of the dark past they attempted to move past, yet with so little life the city proved more of a ghost town than a community recovering and moving forward, at least he was safe. The word tasted bitter, strange, it caused anger but above all worry, FEAR that it would be taken from him once again.

           IDENTIFYING ANDROID

           RK800, white letters against the grey background. His thirium pump picked up pace, faster and faster. Their past encounter was very fresh, though his feelings were very conflicted. Perhaps it wasn’t the android, Connor, who inspired the sudden fear in him, it was what he had almost caused, deactivation. 

           ‘     I didn’t think I would see you again, ever.     ’            Stupid. There was no reason to go and talk to him yet Shaolin had been rather lonely, the continuous isolation had been to keep him safe, out of harm’s way, away from society yet it wasn’t voluntarily, a necessary evil to keep him safe.
