Actually you know what, here’s a bunch of fun interesting writing things you can do with an aroace/allo bloodymary queer platonic relationship based on stuff me and my gay friend do in our relationship.
This is just for fun and to encourage people to expand and exercise their relationship writing skills, and make their aroace relationships more meaningful.
(This is also. Coming from the allo in the relationship lol. Aroaces feel free to add more stuff.)
Have them talk about their out of norm boundaries. For example, Grace doesn’t like kissing when it’s not quick and innocent. He doesn’t like making out or locking lips. Simon does have urges to kiss him, but asks him if he can. This also goes with hugs and cuddles and stuff. Simon even has his own boundaries he shares in turn.
Have Grace say no to things. The few times I’ve read bloodymary fics that go into a romantic or sexual relationship, Grace is always very quick to be comfortable with things. This always takes me out of it. I like Grace saying no or telling Simon he doesn’t want to do something.
Sex-repulsed and sex-neutral people can still have sex, but keep in mind they will still react differently than sex-positive people or allosexuals. This one I can talk about since I am allo but very sex-repulsed lmao. I LOOOVVVEE taking from Grace’s canon typical sex repulsiveness and applying it where he has very VERY certain sexual desires. Making it so he needs distractions, he loses interest, he gets uncomfortable and stops. All very good things I would LOVE to see more of. Believe it or not, sex-repulsed people can still get horned up and want sex lmao.
(Obviously✋not every sex-repulsed person is like this.)
On that note, mix it up a little!!! No need to be so hardline about any sort of sex and romance repulsion!!!! Sometimes Grace cannot even stand the idea of a hug lasting a little too long, sometimes he is surprised with how much he wants to sit on Simon’s lap for the next several hours.
Give some attention to Simon and his allo needs as well. Most of the time when I see people trying to incorporate the aroace Grace hc in their love for bloodymary, I see people making Simon the exact same flavor of aroace. Simon could be allosexual and alloromantic!! He can have sexual and romantic feelings for Grace!!! He can do all that while still being in a happy place in their relationship with Grace. Neither one of them needs to change the way they are, they just need to work and communicate.
Also. You can be so messy with it too. But I’ll stick to the healthier sides of things lmao.
You can absolutely just have friends with benefits bloodymary. Not even gonna lie, that is what my bloodymary is lmao. They are their human connection that they both desperately need and deserve, even if they are very different people. Their relationship is built on friendship as the baseline with extra bonuses.
Almost forgot this one, you guys do know allo people could just not care about sex and romance right??? Like they could just not see that as a priority in their lives. Play with that a bit too. Make Simon just really not care that Grace will never be his partner or mate or anything. Have him be happy with that.
Again, this is an allo person making this post, but I know I get a lot of compliments on how I depict the queer platonic relationship between Grace and Simon, so I thought I should make a post on some tips and tricks to think about if you want a similar vibe.
