Mira and Beau have arguably the funniest reactions to Guide's casual "oh yeah back home crab is actually a super common seafood," with both completely shocked by the statement and yelling out "YOU EAT CRAB??!?" Guide laughs for a solid 10 minutes about it. They all end up talking about the most common foods from all of their respective homes.

Odile doesn't think much of it, as far as I'm aware those from Ka Bue have more issues with dolphins rather than crabs so it's likely also just seafood to her.

Bonnie, ever the curious lil chef asks if it's good. Siffrin and Cirrus chime in here and comment that yeah it tastes pretty alright, at least from what they remember. Guide stops them from going too far into the memories, simply so they don't lose them again.

So I'll say that Guide is not the only one affected by the glasses and that they can even control if the glasses work for someone or not. When not in Guide's possession the glasses seem to be a normal pair of glasses, slightly tinted so the world is a lil darker but nothing else of comment. When Guide is the one using the glasses however the glasses become craft infused and can properly show off it's odd abilities. They can keep the glasses craft infused at will so that they work even when not being worn by Guide.

When the glasses are off they make Guide perceive the world in greyscale as to avoid unnecessary headaches. When on Guide sees in full color without any sort of pain. Without the glasses Guide still sees in color but their brain feels like its being beaten with hammers the entire time. I'd say that the primary purpose of the glasses is to protect the wearer from drawbacks from witnessing what they shouldn't.

If someone else were to put the glasses on they'd allow the wearer to perceive what Guide does without a headache. Not only would the wearer see color, the wearer would also notice floating strings of numbers and words around objects/people of interest. The strings of numbers/words relate to the code of the world and tell Guide a lot of general info. The wearer would have 0 idea what any of the lines of code do though as they wouldn't be able to properly read any of it, with most of the code appearing glitched out or distorted (sumn sumn Guide has forbidden knowledge sumn sumn.) Hanging out with Guide frequently would likely cause the code to slowly become readable over time due to "weirdness exposure" as I call it. Though if someone who doesn't hang out with Guide often puts the glasses on then removes them they quickly forget whatever they saw Island Memory Curse Style(tm).

Generally Guide uses the glasses to see the stats of the party at any given time and also uses them to compare their equipment. The glasses can also show Guide what buff/debuff any given bit of equipment might have, though they can't always get a clear read on items not meant to be used by the party. For example they could get a clear read on a sword's data but a random weapon such as a war-hammer would be a lot harder for them to read. Not all strings of numbers have a label that tell Guide what that particular string does so they tend to avoid messing with unlabeled strings if they can help it. For the lines they can read and understand they'll mess with them if it benefits them but is otherwise content to leave them alone.

It should also be noted though that Guide only really cares about the stats of the party or enemies so for other people they, at most, see their name and their pronouns. Guide could care less about the stats of random people if they're not in the party or are being expected to fight. Unless the party regards somebody with a lot of interest Guide typically won't go digging for their stats. I'll also say that Guide can't use this ability to learn the "backstory" of people they meet, just things such as health, attack power, craft type, defense, etc.
