some dark thoughts. tw: depression, sh. this is kind of like a "thank you, I love you" message to my mutuals
have been drowning in the dark for a while now. to the extent where I am now completely isolated from my irl connections. stopped my depression and adhd meds and my therapy. because what is even the point
couldn't even cut my arm properly. still it felt good to feel smth at least that way. regularly daydream about the perfect way to pull the plug. went offline literally. I switched off my phone for nearly a month. just lived off of my laptop and whatever food was left in the house. instant ramen, fruit, cereal. mostly a meal a day, sometimes a meal and a fruit. Neighbour found me fainted on the couch once. luckily(?) I woke up alright. was even more exhausted for days after that. have been forced to at least wave a hi to them every now and then so they'd get off my back. they're good people but I wish no one had found me that day. depression meds haven't been working really. I don't want to follow up with my psychiatrist or my therapist about this (feels too exhausting).
opened Tumblr today after a long while and seeing my mutuals' posts on my dash made me smile. i haven't smiled for real in a long while, frankly. thank you, I love you all immensely. truly. i hope you are doing well.
i have a banger collection of out of context reddit comments but very few of them top this one:
dogs might look like their owners but cat people always have a cat with the same mental illness as them
My last cat was owned by my friend's Trekkie uncle who passed very suddenly in a car crash. The family just couldn't take him and asked me to possibly foster him until they could. I almost immediately adopted him.
I would set my computer to play a video for him when I left for work. He got mad if it wasn't star trek. He learned to hit the spacebar to pause and start it.
I am and have always been a Trekkie. One time I was having a shit day bc I was in the middle of MCAS starting to kick my butt and I was just crying on my couch. He hopped onto the table and started star trek for me
Then he just stared at me like "did that work?"
And this was his staring face so yes of course it did
But I'm forever amused that I shared needing the same comfort show, with a cat
Omg this is amazing
Like learning to pause???
And knowing it comforted you as well???
It took him some trial and error, but he figured out pawing the keyboard in the area of the spacebar made it stop and start. And also at my mouse, which he had stolen bc I was paying too much attention to the video, in that picture
He was a very smart and like. Attenuated cat.
When cats put their whole body into making a sound. Only to be squeak.

Unironically I think this meme is really good for explaining why maths formalisms and notation are so valuable, even when they seem cumbersome/convoluted. It's an incredibly precise way to describe the interaction of a lot of related-but-meaningfully-distinct concepts, and this is a great showcase of that, thank you Lynn Chordbug you're the best.
my most sick and twisted fantasy
I was honestly a bit nervous to draw and post this one, because it's such a deep rooted and genuine issue I struggle with. It's a thing I wish could be fixed in some way, but I feel pretty comforted it resonated with so many others too

Some internet language things I really like:
Phrases like âthatâs certainly a thingâ, âitâs so shapedâ, or âone of the most animalsâ (is there a name for this?)
when people write with little to no punctuation like they are just so done
More specifically, asking questions without punctuation i.e. âwhatâ or âwhyâ. Itâs like, you want to know but also you are resigned to the answer?
When people capitalise The Thing for emphasis - particularly if they add a trademark symbol to really drive The Point⢠home
How we use both bold and italic text for emphasis, but they convey it in different ways and I canât quite explain how
Responding to things exclusively with punctuation, because sometimes words fail you and all you can say is !!!
It makes me happy when they listen
YES. YES YES YES THANK YOU
reblog to give prev a shiny trinkets
when a mutual reblogs something ive already liked i unlike it and then like it again. its my way of kissing them on the forehead

iâve said it before but i wish vaginas didnât cost money
you literally can not have a vagina without paying for it. vaginoplasty for some, period products for others, if you want to stop buying period products thatâs gonna be expensive medicine or an expensive procedure, recovery from surgery requires time off work and vaginoplasty specifically requires money spent on dilators. our bodies shouldnt cost us this much on baseline. having a vagina shouldnt have such a hefty tax on it. it makes me feel like iâm in a fictional dystopia written for middle school classrooms when i think about it.

Being smart enough to know when to consult and listen to someone more knowledgeable is in fact quite smart! Many humans cannot manage this!
