Mady didn’t know how she was supposed to feel about that, it wasn’t just an answer she didn’t want, it wasn’t an answer at all and that she couldn’t really process instead she just nodded. “Well when you figure it out, go fuck yourself, that’s my answer,” She told him with a humorless chuckle and turned to leave. 

Andrew watched as she turned away. Part of him knew he was supposed to stop her, but he couldn’t. That would probably make things worse, as he would probably end up kissing her again, which would be terrible. Instead, he stood there, his hands in his pockets, wondering what the fuck just happened.

“I want you to stop acting weird and being a dick for no reason unless you’re being sarcastic. I want you to grow some balls and just tell me you if you like me or if you don’t. Cause at least then I can stop beating my head against the wall trying to figure out if you do or if I’ve finally snapped and gone crazy with insecurity that I’m making shit up in my head and need to be checked into a psych ward somewhere. I mean…”

He looked at her and took a deep breath. This wasn’t something he wanted to talk about, or even think about, but he didn’t want to hurt Mady. She was his friend. “Madz, I just, this isn’t something...I can;t.”

“Do not make me tackle you. Cause I’m tiny, but I will and I will sit on you!”

Drew stopped and turned around. “Madolyn! I said I’m sorry, I won’t do it again. What the fuck else do you want?”

“No, no, no,” She said stopping him. “You lit the short fuse now you have to suffer the consequences, that’s how life works, buddy.”

“No, I’m fine, thanks,” he said as he took a few more steps.

“You’re such an asshole.” Madolyn started off, in the back of her mind noting she was starting to sound like her mother but was gonna save that one to talk about in group therapy. “Like… Okay, what in that moment just screamed, ‘I know she looks kinda pissed, but maybe if I kiss her, she’ll stop being mad?’ What kind of logic…?” The blond trailed off briefly to think. This was not fair to her.

“Richards logic,” he mumbled as he took another step back. “I’m gonna, go over there, way far away, okay, bye.”

Mady pushed him away and shook her head. “No you don’t get to call me your sister and then kiss me. You don’t get to mess with my head and confuse me.”

“He rubbed the back of his neck and took a step back. “Sorry,” he muttered.

“I’m like your what now?”

“My sister.”

“And I have an older brother who I annoy into submission. But I am not your little sister and you are not my brother so ignoring each other is not a thing that really happens cause it’s a different kind of annoyance.”

“Go away, Mackenzie.”

“And I’m a Mackenzie which automatically makes me twenty times more stubborn than you and I will keep asking so why don’t you just tell me what your problem is, cause I’m not going to stop asking.”

“You act like I don’t have a baby sister who can be fairly annoying when she wants to be, so I have practice with ignoring this shit.”

“You are the most frustrating person I have ever met, just so you know.” She rolled her eyes at him.

“I’m a Stark, so.”

“Lex would tell me if she was pregnant.”

Drew shrugged. “If you say so.”
