the cow is trans because marshmellows here are usually trans colored (white pink and baby blue, sometimes also light yellow and green), the cow is meant to have marshmellow hair.

We sort of do, but mostly just in, like, Lucky Charms (a breakfast cereal; idk if you have it over there) and Peeps (bird-shaped marshmallows; I think they're an Easter thing?).

But yeah, if you buy a regular-ass bag of marshmallows in the US, they're white.

My wife has just informed me that she's seen trans-colored marshmallows in the kosher section of the grocery store, but I'd imagine those are imported from over there.

these things were super popular in the 90s - my grammy kept them and the regular white jumbo puffed in her freezer, which was a pretty normal storage method for her generation (she also stored dry goods in the oven and washed and kept every plastic utensil that ever entered into her possession. great depression anyone?). i still freeze them on the random occasions I happen to find marshmallows in my cabinets. it makes them very chewy - not everyone likes that, but I also like stale cereal so maybe im just a weirdo. also, trying putting your pop tarts in the freezer, it's very interesting.

anyway, these mini marshmallows have a very vague flavor relation to fruit, but it is enough that they're nasty. Do Not recommend, 2/10 (altho if grammy gave them to me, I'd still eat them, what monster turns down a snack from their grammy)

Last update for the evening: bladder and urethra looked clear and they recommended that I not spend over 1k+ dollars on bloodwork at this point in time because they think this could just be a stress reaction coupled with the fact that he's 19 lbs and can't properly groom himself in all places, which means he was quite literally diagnosed as "fat and stupid" and sent home with kitty opioids. I paid 490 dollars to have my idiot son mocked in exchange for drugs, a prize that's really only worth 150, tops.

also he was howling like a demon in the back as they carried him out and then the second he saw me, he was all cute kitten mews again. Manipulative little shit. I have soothed the beast, but at what cost (490 dollars, apparently)

Resteraunt servers have the funniest and most surreal workplace stories of any profession. They have the job that mean nurses think they have. The entire world is working against them the entire shift. And then you feel terrible for laughing. It’s not funny that you tripped and spilled an entire ice tea all over a toddler and the kid started screaming at the top of his lungs. Nobody was having a good day, thank God it wasn’t a hot coffee. That’s not funny. I did laugh so hard tears started rolling down my face when you recounted this mortifying ordeal though.

to everyone reblogging this and saying that you’re the exception, or this will never apply to you, you are not alone. back when I made that first text post I felt the same way. but something I realized in between the first half and second half of this post is that it starts with you. it starts with wanting to be done with the misery. it is so much easier to give in to whatever mental health issues you’re dealing with, especially in a world that is built against us. however it is so worth it to not give in. it is so worth it to do things that make you feel good even though it can feel impossible to start. it’s so worth it to fail at something because at least it means you tried.

getting yourself out of the hole is hard, and can feel damn near impossible at your lowest. but it isn’t impossible. i am living proof of this. nobody is responsible for your emotions but you, and if you want to be happy, you have to create your happiness. do whatever you can to surround yourself with joy. not hedonism, but actual joy. accomplishments, good relationships, engagement in healthy hobbies and habits. it can be hard, there’s no denying it, i still struggle myself sometimes. the reward is so worth it. feeling like you’re the best version of yourself is so worth it.

Dragons are fireless until they undergo the Hroom, the traditional draconic ceremony where a fledgling dragon will go out into the world and make a bargain with a spirit of elemental fire to live in their soul in a state of mutual symbiosis. The spirit receives shelter and nourishment, while the dragon receives a source of elemental fire, which it can only now use to defend itself.

In many draconic cultures, the Hroom marks a dragon’s coming of age, a time to recognize that a dragon is now of a proper age to hold a weapon and defend itself. Some dragons believe that it is only by bonding with an elemental spirit that a dragon has a soul, and that a dragon is only a whole dragon when it has both the mortal shell and the inner spark.

There has been a backlash to this in recent centuries, of course. Fledglings these days are going out and making bargains with all kinds of things. This is usually spirits of elemental lightning and ice, but more than one dragon has come back to their clutch with a fairly bewildered witch.

Metaphorically, yes. One dragon had married the witch she brought back to her clutch, and she said that meant their two souls had become one, which was basically the same thing.

The other dragons in her brood said it didn’t work that way, but she was able to breathe pure magic afterwards, so it at least worked that way for her.
