Barry Allen

She smiled back at Barry and swayed back and forth a bit,”Well, looks like you’re my pretend boyfriend for the holidays then!” She hugged him back,”Look, honestly, I can’t thank you enough.” She nodded,”Oh she will. You know she will.” She shook her head and laughed,”Nope, not happenin’, Allen.” She said with a soft chuckle.

“So you better be nice to me” he teased. Chuckling Barry shrugged. “I dunno, maybe that’ll be what you owe me” he commented with a smirk before laughing. “So uh, do we have a backstory going into this? Or are we just...dating now?” he asked curiously, not knowing how much Kara wanted to put into this fake relationship thing,

“Ha ha, very funny, Mister Allen.” She rolled her eyes again at him and chuckled. She shrugged softly,”Because you’re the only guy I trust enough to bring home. You’ve met my family. They don’t really like anyone. So bringing you home would be a blessing for them.” Things at that second got real,”As much as I hate to admit it, I don’t trust easy. So please, Barry. I will let you win all the video games of your choosing against me. I’ll even give you a back rub or something. I never ask for anything. Can you please do this one thing for me?” She pleaded, making a puppy dog face at him.

Glancing over at Kara as she turned all serious on him Barry couldn’t help but smile. “Oh relax, you know I’m gonna do it, stop with the face” he teased as he gently pulled her into a hug. “Your mom better make pie though” he added in with a nod as he kissed Kara’s cheek. “But you should really think about that lesbian thing,” he teased

Kara rolled her eyes at Barry and sighed,”Nothing’s wrong with them, Bar. I just am not one. I am very much into guys.” She giggled softly and scrunched her nose,”Favors? I’m pretty sure it’ll only be one. What kind of favor are we talking here, Barry? There are some lines that need to be drawn. So wait, is that a yes?” She looked hopefully at the guy sitting next to her.

“Coulda fooled me” he teased as Kara explained how she was into guys. “Okay wait. Why are you asking me though? I’ve already met your family, wouldn’t it be more..realistic to bring some dude they don’t know?” he asked glancing over at the girl.

“But I do. AND I refuse to let you sit around playing video games and eating by yourself. You are in my book. So shhh.” She rolled her eyes and him and chuckled,”Becausemyfamilyisstartingtothinki’malesbian.” She said super fast, “Because I need a date. If I don’t bring someone home, they’re all going to think I’m either a lesbian or a nun. Especially my sister.” She scrunched her nose and made an awkward smile at her best friend,”Pleaaaaaase??” She pleaded to the male,”I will probably do just about anything for you if you do this for me.” She raised and eyebrow and nodded,”Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean.”

Arching a brow Barry thought he had picked up on Kara’s mumble but when she repeated it he couldn’t help but laugh. “What’s wrong with lesbians?” he asked with a smirk. “Hang on, your asking me to be your fake boyfriend in what? Return for favours?” he asked just to clarify, glancing over at the girl.

She laughed softly at his explanation of what his Thanksgiving was going to be,”Yeah, no. You need to be with people that actually care about you. Not just your couch, Bar. Want to come to my family Thanksgiving? We’re going to have plenty of food and stuff. Plus you’ll get to hang out with your best friend.” She was avoiding the real question. The question of him pretending to be her boyfriend,”That’s why you love me, remember?” She said with a smirk.

“Uh I’m pretty sure your family doesn’t care about me. Not that they’ve never not been nice to me but I don’t think I’m counted as part of the family” he teased. “Why are you offering?” he asked curiously. “And love is a very strong word Kara, my dear”

Kara rolled her eyes and laughed softly,”Ha HA! Yeah they really don’t. But the thing is they see us as just friends. They are crazy and just want their daughter to be happy.” She shrugged softly,”I don’t like going out like that. Partying, dancing. That kind of thing I am definitely not coordinated enough for. What are you doing for Thanksgiving by the way?” The female asked, hoping to get a semi decent response out of her best friend. She rolled her eyes teasingly and laughed,”My butt!! I will win!” She exclaimed then made her signature monkey face at him.

Arching a brow at the question Barry shrugged. “What I usually do, video games and take out” he pointed out with a chuckle. Glancing at Kara he couldn’t help but laugh, reaching over he tapped her nose with his index finger. “You are ridiculous”

“And you’re not nice? Barry, you’re the nicest guy I know.” She laughed as she pulled up the number for the pizza place. You’d think it was on speed dial but shockingly it wasn’t,”Because I haven’t had a boyfriend in like forever. And even then my last relationship was crap. So they probably would like to see me with a guy.” She sighed. She couldn’t actually believe that she was going to ask Barry to help  her out with this. But she had to ask someone and he was the closet thing to a boyfriend. She scoffed then laughed,”You’re going down, Mr. Allen!” She exclaimed. “We’ll see who has the better life this time!”

“Yeah but your nicer.” he pointed out. “Well I don’t think your parents realize the extent of the fact that you leaving the house and being social means coming to my place and video gaming online” he pointed out. “How are you supposed to find a boyfriend that way?” he eased. Plopping down he started setting the board up on the coffee table. “Uh it’s always me, you suck at this game” he teased.

“HA HA very funny.” She rolled her eyes and laughed softly. She knew that he sucked at clue. That was why she loved playing it with him. She squinted softly,”I know you do. That’s what makes it fun. But finnnneee. We’ll play Life. Why am I always the one that has to order the food?” She asked with a laugh and picked up her phone,”Sooooo Thanksgiving is coming up. I’m pretty sure my mom and dad think I have same sex tendencies..” She laughed.

“Because your the nice one” he teased. Barry was digging through Kara’s closet to look for the game when he heard her comment. “And why do they think that? I mean not that it would be a bad thing,” he called, smirking a little to himself. Grinning triumphantly as he found the game he brought it back out to the living room. “Hope your ready to lose,”

“So, you’re not even going to share one with me? Wow. Just woooow!!!” She raised an eyebrow and laugh,”We could watch a movie and play a board game?” She asked excitedly. She pulled her hair into her hands and over her shoulder,”I’m in a serious mood to play life and clue right now! And I’ll probably kick your butt at both of them too.” She giggled softly.

“You can have a half” he decided with a nod. Watching Kara he couldn’t help but smile at her excitement. “Well you know I suck at Clue, but I do love Life. So I vote we play that,” he commented as he climbed up. “You order the food I’ll find the game” he said giving her a thumbs up before searching around.

Kara took a small deep breath in as she kicked off her shoes. She changed quickly into her comfy pants and walked back out to Barry. Doing the grunt work at work was not her favorite thing but she was still only an assistant. But that was the only way she was going to make it to the position she really wanted. She raised an eyebrow at Barry and laughed,”You’re totally lying. I’m pretty sure you would miss me too much and like an hour later you’d be back with the pizza yourself. It’s happened before, Bar.” She laughed and scrunched her nose softly,”But fine fine! We’ll actually get breadsticks this time. But please don’t go eating them all.” She joked as she plopped down next to her best friend.

“Asking me not to eat all the breadsticks is like asking me not to tease you. Impossible.” he declared throwing his hands up before grinning over at Kara. “So what shall we do tonight? Movie? Video game? Board game maybe?” he suggested as he leaned back against the couch, resting his arms along the back of it.
