Content/Warnings: None? Children/Kids, Akita being a matchmaker like her Mama, Dad!Kiri, Softie Bakugou, Mina's meddling, Paparazzi getting into everyone's business.
Saturday came quicker than you’d expected. You were equally nervous and excited about the formal event. You hadn’t been to something so fancy since your Prom. The whole thing was all a work-related outing in your mind, so it soothed your worries, knowing it would be a professional outing. Little did you know, Bakugou had a very different view of tonight.
His mind raced as he had entered the flower shop. The overwhelming floral scent filled the little store and the walls, floor, and shelves were covered in flowers. Bakugou made his way to the counter, getting some stares from the few employees. A girl with golden hair approached the front desk and greeted Bakugou with the best customer service voice she could muster up.
“How can I help you today?” The girl smiled up at Bakugou, who towered over her.
“Flowers, obviously,” Bakugou replied in a deadpan tone. He wasn’t even sure what to ask for, but he needed something nice for you. Something that said husband material.
“Of course, what kind?” The girl inquired, looking for a little more information from him.
“I don’t know… Something for a formal first date. I don’t care about color,” Bakugou explained. He felt very out of place here, in a sweet little flower shop in his hero costume. He only had an hour to get home, shower and change before he needed to be at your door. Work had run a little later than expected, but that’s hero work for you.
“I think I have some white and red tulips that will fit perfectly. What wrapping do you want, and what size?” The girl asked, referring to the size chart showing multiple colors of cloth and paper that the flowers could be wrapped in. As well as the prices. He pointed to the black paper with a gentle shine to it, and the biggest bouquet they had.
“Alright, that’ll be 37.58,” The girl rang up his purchase and let one of her coworkers run off to make the bouquet. Bakugou swiped his card, paying for the flowers and waited in the store for his bouquet. You had been on his mind all day. His thoughts of you hadn’t faltered for a single second. If he had any free time, you were running through his mind at every spare moment.
He took a breath, trying to calm his nerves. He couldn’t shake the image of you with little Akita; of your smile as you sang to her. The way Akita seemed so peaceful, as if she was going to fall asleep in your arms. He would give anything to fall asleep in your arms right now or to even be close enough to you that you’d even touch him freely. A small pat on the arm, or even fixing his shirt before he left. Anything and everything you would give him.
He sighed in relief as the bouquet was handed to him, finally allowing him to leave the flower shop and get home. He didn’t want to show up at your door covered in ash and sickeningly sweet smelling sweat. This was supposed to be the perfect night; A chance to show you how good of a partner he could be. Even though he’d never had a truly serious attempt at a long-term relationship, so, this was beyond nerve wracking for him.
He cradled the flowers in his arm and blasted off into the sky. His apartment wasn’t far, so he got there quickly. He walked into his building getting into the elevator after giving the doorman a curt nod of acknowledgement. He got into the elevator and put in his key to get to his floor. Being the number 2 hero came with needing good security and alarm systems, so the key was a good security measure.
As he waited for the elevator to lift him to his floor, he caught a glance of himself in the reflection of the metal elevator doors. The reflection was slightly blurred, and it made the flowers in Bakugou’s arm look like a bundle of blankets… Or a bundle of joy in a blanket. Bakugou moved the flowers into his hand after the thought popped into his mind.
Bakugou was in his head all day, and every domestic fantasy he had just made him more eager and love sick for you. The sounding of the bell signaled that he’d made it to his apartment. The elevator opened up straight into his apartment. He walked in, setting the flowers down by the door so he wouldn’t forget them for your date tonight.
Bakugou sighed as he took off his heavy gauntlets, and his boots. He made his way to the bathroom, stripping down for his shower. He glanced at the time on his phone, seeing it say 5:00 PM. He got into the shower after adjusting the water to be scalding hot. The hot water stung for a moment, but his muscles relaxed under the water. Hero work truly took a toll on his body, mind and soul. But this always made him a little less sore. He soaped himself up, lathering the suds all over himself. The smell of sandalwood filled the shower.
He finished up his shower, turning off the water and hopping out soon after. The air felt cooler after his scalding hot shower. Chills creeped up his spine as he wrapped the towel around his waist and headed towards the sink. He took some gel and fixed his hair. He dried off with the towel around his waist and put on the simple suit he’d set out earlier that day.
It was a nicely tailored suit, made to fit him perfectly, so you could imagine his surprise when the jacket was too snug. Bakugou grumbled, shuffling around with the jacket before resigning to change into a different suit that actually fit him. He had another nice navy blue suit that fit him nicely. He left out the tie and kept one button undone at the top.
Ever since his UA days, he’s hated ties. The strangling feeling it gave him just annoyed him. Although that tight strangling feeling was in his heart now. His teen self wouldn’t believe what he was doing tonight. Trying to make the night perfect for a person he wasn’t even dating, and wanting them desperately. His younger self also wouldn’t have understood the loneliness of hero work. The toll it has on your mental state. He knew his body would grow weak as age caught up with him, but the traumas and loneliness only worsened every day after the sludge-villain.
Bakugou took a breath, shaking himself out of his thoughts. Tonight was going to be fine, perfect even. He smoothed out his suit jacket as he looked himself over in the mirror before deeming his look good enough. His hair was dry now, spiked up the way he liked, not that he needed any help to get his hair there.
Bakugou left his room after putting on his dress shoes and grabbed his phone and wallet for the night. He picked up the flowers from the table set at the front door and left his apartment. The elevator ride down seemed to last forever as his heart steadily increased pace.
‘Tonight has to be perfect…’ Bakugou thought as he walked to the garage. He ran through his plan as he got into his car and began driving down the road to your apartment. He was going to take you to the private entrance so the paparazzi wouldn’t get too overwhelming for either of you. Plus, he doesn't need the various media outlets flipping out and making his outing with you a big scandal.
Then, he’d take you to get a drink at the open bar and head straight to Kirishima. With Mina and Kirishima being married, all Bakugou and Kirishima’s secrets were always shared with her. She hadn’t stopped teasing and begging to meet you. She even threatened to show up randomly at the agency to find out who Bakugou’s mystery crush was.
Next, he’d let the evening unfold and keep you close by throughout the night. Try to chat with you and keep you interested in him throughout the night. He didn’t think that’d be too much of a problem since you wouldn’t know many people there.
After that, once the night is over is the most important part. Asking you out on a real date, not just making it a matter of circumstance and availability. He doesn’t want just anyone; he wants you.
As he pulled up to your building, he checked the time after parking. 5:40 PM… He’s a few minutes early, per usual. He took the flowers out, taking them gently in his hand. He dusted himself off and headed up to your apartment. He opted for the stairs instead, heading up to your floor.
As he stood in front of your door, his fist came up and knocked lightly on your door. You rushed to the door in your nicest dress without your shoes. You opened the door with a small smile. Seeing Bakugou in a suit was nice, but nothing you haven’t seen before. But the flowers in his hand shocked you. Your cheeks turned rosy at the sight.
“Hey, come on in, I just have to put my shoes on and I’ll be ready to go,” You said. He said nothing, but he came in and handed you the flowers. You took them gratefully, going to set them in the kitchen. Bakugou followed and watched you all glammed up, handling the flowers with care as you put them in the vase. You smelled the tulips for a moment, closing your eyes.
Bakugou couldn’t get enough of your every move. So as you cupped the tulips bringing them closer to your face, with such a content smile on your lips. Anyone would say you looked gorgeous at this moment. You were dolled up, in your best state, and Bakugou was speechless. You were this ethereal looking woman, a stunning goddess in his eyes.
“These are beautiful, thank you!” You thanked him as you hurried over to the couch, sitting down to put on your heels. You put them on quickly, standing up slowly to keep your balance.
“No problem,” Bakugou grumbled as you walked around the couch past him. A faded smell of your perfume and some of your hair products. It was a heavenly feeling to even be close enough to you that he would notice that. You had your phone, wallet and other necessities inside your small handbag.
“Alright, I’m ready if you are,” You said, turning towards him. Your gazes met, and his crimson eyes held such an adoring gaze. Though you didn’t notice the adoration in them, just the calmness. Bakugou nodded as a reply and you both headed out the door.
“I’m taking us to the private entrance so that way the paparazzi doesn't get in our faces,” Bakugou said as you two walked down the hall to the elevator, side by side.
“Sounds good, I’m assuming you're wanting to avoid attention tonight, like usual?” You asked. Being his assistant came with the perks of knowing the hero in and out.
“For as long as we can,” Bakugou spoke with an exasperated tone. Paparazzi was always a sore spot, an annoyance to Bakugou. It didn’t help that they looked for every opportunity to make a headline, whether good or bad.
“Can’t have them making me out to be Dynamight’s new girlfriend now can we?” You joked with a giggle following your sentence. You heard a few grumbles you couldn’t make out before hearing Bakugou speak again.
“It’s Bakugou for the night,” Bakugou said, pulling at his suit jacket’s sleeves. He couldn’t help but fix any small ‘flaw’ he noticed. His nervous tendencies weren’t noticed by you though. You were actually excited to go to a fancy event. You hadn’t been this glammed up since your Prom.
“Well then, Bakugou, thank you for having me as your date tonight. I haven’t had a reason to dress up or go out in a while so I’m excited for tonight,” You said with a smile. You somehow missed his excitement hidden in his eyes that flashed before he responded.
“It’s no problem. It’ll be nice to have someone tolerable with me,” Bakugou said as he led you to his car that was parked at the front of your building.
“I think that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me,” You replied, with a genuine smile coming across your face. You rarely got compliments, so one from your handsome, hot-headed, high-standard boss was quite the accomplishment. It lifted your already soaring confidence for the night.
“Don’t get used to it,” Bakugou grumbled out of habit. He winced at the tone he used, but you didn’t notice at all, nor did you mind.
“Oh, I wouldn’t be caught dead making you look like a big softie. Even though you are one,” You teased him once you both got into the car.
“I am not-” Bakugou cut himself off, giving an annoyed look. You two have had this conversation a few times before. The first time being when you saw him giving a kid one of the unreleased Dynamight plushies. You both knew where the argument would lead, so both of you quit while you could. You buckled up, and Bakugou drove you to the hero gala. It was going to be a good night; You could feel it.
While the silence in the car was very comforting for you, it was not for Bakugou. He didn’t know what to say, and he didn’t want to sound awkward, but the silence was making him increasingly nervous.
Making it to the event’s venue didn’t take long, but another set back was hurled your way. As Bakugou’s car pulled up, multiple paparazzi flashed their cameras at the car. All of them pointed at you, ready to snap any pictures they could. They obviously recognized his car model, and they all freaked out. Getting pictures of Dynamight at any event was rare, especially out of his hero suit.
Bakugou sighed heavily, looking grumpier by the second. Paparazzi is already a sore spot for him. It would be especially annoying since he had you as his date. The paparazzi surrounded the car, making it impossible to get to the side exit at all, let alone undetected.
“I- I didn’t want this-” Bakugou parked the car, seeing that he wouldn’t get anywhere.
“Don’t worry about it. Let’s just get in and away from the cameras,” You brushed off the frustration and gave him a reassuring smile.
“Yeah, but the new outlets, and the PR team are going to be pissed,” Bakugou grumbled, scanning through the various cameras and paparazzi.
“And I’ll be handling all of it tomorrow. It’ll be fine,” You reassured him again, touching his arm gently. Thank god his windows were almost completely blacked out. None of the cameras could catch this moment between you. Coming as his date for the night was one thing; having a little moment in the car was another. Most paparazzi would sell their souls to catch Dynamight in a moment like that.
Bakugou nodded as a response before taking the keys out of the ignition and stepped out of the car. The various people began yelling like crazy, asking every question they could think of.
“What is your opinion on the new hero rankings?” “Will your partner, Red Riot, be here tonight?” “What is the new merch release going to do for your company?” “Have you been dating recently?” “When are you going to address the new rumors of a secret relationship between you and Pro-Hero Deku?”
Bakugou ignored the questions and pushed through to your side. You waited patiently for him to get to your door, not wanting to face the paparazzi on your own. You watched as his expression stayed in his neutral ‘don’t talk to me’ look and he made his way to your door. He opened the passenger door, revealing you to the flashing cameras. He held out his hand, letting you use him to balance as you got out. His hands were so warm and a small tingling sensation was left on both of your hands long after you let go of him.
The yelling of the paparazzi became increasingly more intense once you got out of the car. Bakugou handed his keys to the valet driver and led you through the reporters.
“Who are you?” “What’s your name?” “Are you Dynamight’s new girlfriend?” “Who are you wearing tonight?” “Are you two official?” “Where did you meet?” “Who’s the lucky lady?”
The yelling was enough to give you a headache, but the flashing, and the yelling, and the intrusive questions was enough to fluster, frustrate and annoy you. You made it through to the front door of the venue, cutting you off from the psychotic reporters outside.
The multitude of people talking flushed out any noise from the reporters outside. The golden and cream coloring of the event hall screamed luxury. Add in the fancy dresses, suits, and a lot of champagne and it becomes a whole new world. The room was brightly lit, with multiple caterers running past with flutes of champagne and appetizers on fancy golden platters.
The shift into this beautiful event made you feel sort of out of place. You didn’t feel that you fit in, but you definitely looked the part, so fitting into the sea of people wouldn’t be a problem. You took a breath to calm your nerves and let Bakugou lead you through the ballroom.
“I need a drink after all that,” Bakugou wasn’t lying, but he also needed a little liquid courage for his plan tonight. Especially after two things had already gone wrong. He led you to one of the caterers. He grabbed two champagne flutes off of the tray and handed one to you. He wouldn’t get drunk easily off of the sickeningly sweet champagne, but maybe it’d give him some confidence he desperately needed.
“Agreed,” You were settled next to him, scanning the room for familiar faces. Thankfully, you spotted Pro-Hero Red Riot, his wife, Pinky, and little Akita not too far from you two. You nudged Bakugou with your elbow to get his attention, then gestured to the cute little family. Bakugou gave you a rare grin before speaking.
“Now you’re speaking my language,” Bakugou said, heading over to his friends with you tailing behind him.
“Hey! Bakubro! You brought a date for once,” Pro-Hero Pinkie exclaimed as you two approached.
“Miss. Y/N!” Akita squirmed out of her father’s arms to greet you with a hug. She was quite tiny so she wrapped her arms around your legs. You didn’t expect her to come in full force though. As she hugged you, you accidentally spilled your drink on the bottom of your dress. Thank god you hadn’t chosen to where white.
“Akita! Be gentle! I’m so sorry about her, she can get excited,” Pinkie apologized.
“Oh, it’s fine,” You said to Pro-Hero Pinkie.
“Sorry, Miss. Y/N,” Akita looked up at you with the sweetest puppy-dog eyes full of remorse. You simply smiled down at her and crouched down to her level.
“It’s fine, sweetie. It’s just a dress; it can be washed,” You replied to her. She reached out to you, touching your hair curiously.
“You look super pretty!! Are you my fairy godmother? Mama says you’re not, but you sang the fairy godmother song so that makes you my fairy godmother, right?” Akita switched from topic to topic as you held her with one arm and stood up.
“Well, I wouldn’t be a very good fairy godmother; I don’t have any wings. No wings, no magic,” You said, quickly making an excuse. Honestly, you’d give anything to have this little girl all the time.
You didn’t notice Akita’s mother’s big smirk on her face, nor Red Riot’s smile at your response. Bakugou’s heart warmed at the sight of you being so good with kids. The fact that it was his goddaughter just amplified that effect.
“I don’t care! I want you as my fairy godmother! I don’t want some stupid fairy,” Akita whined, leaning on your shoulder as you held her.
“Sorry sweetie, I don’t make the rules,” You replied.
“But… but…” The small pout on the girl’s lips and the saddened eyes tugged on your heartstrings. You sighed at her expression before her mother joined into the conversation.
“She can be your honorary godmother,” Pinkie said, shocking you both.
“Really?” Akita’s face held a hopeful glint as she looked from her mother to you.
“Your mama makes the rules,” You said as a response, making the girl bounce with joy in your arms. You giggled at her antics, seeing her light up made your day.
“Yay!!” The girl gasped dramatically, eyes blowing wide as she got the best idea she’s had in her short lifetime.
“WAIT! Uncle Katsu is my godfather! Does that mean you have to get married?!” She asked hopefully, shocking all the adults in the conversation. Bakugou was conveniently sipping on his champagne. He choked back in embarrassment and became very red and flustered.
“Sadly, it isn’t that easy,” You replied with a light blush on your cheeks. You kept your cool easily, not knowing that Bakugou was dying behind you. Red Riot and Pinkie watched the whole thing play out with grins and a knowing look at each other.
“Yeah, he’s too grumpy for you,” Akita said, mindlessly playing with a strand of your hair. Bakugou was glaring at the knowing smirks on his friends' faces as you and Akita talked.
“He is quite the grump, isn’t he?”
“Yeah! Sometimes he doesn't even play firefighters with me!” Akita accused with a grumpy pout and sassy tone. You played along with her, gasping dramatically and looking at Bakugou.
“How could you not play firefighters?” You joked.
“Yeah! Why not?!” Akita asked, the sass in her tone increasing. You both looked at Bakugou with completely serious expressions, awaiting his response. His blush was getting brighter and couldn’t go unnoticed now. He was extremely flustered already, but being put on the spot after that whole conversation got him stuttering.
“I-um- I’ll-” You noticed his almost panicked state as he tried to cover for himself.
“I think he’s sorry, don’t you?” You asked Akita, trying to get Bakugou out of the situation.
“I didn’t hear a ‘sorry’, so no,” Akita doubled-down, crossing her arms with an angry pout. A loud sigh came from Bakugou from her comment.
“I will play firefighters with you next time, Akita,” Bakugou said in a calm tone.
“Pinky promise?” Akita held out her pinky for him to take. You tried not to giggle at Bakugou when he interlocked his pinky with hers.
“I promise,” Bakugou said. The girl beamed with joy, squirming in your arms and reaching for Bakugou. You handed her over, smiling at the sight of the tiny girl in his arms. He was always so gentle with her. You felt a slight pang of jealousy for whoever had children with him. He’d be an amazing dad.
“I don’t believe we’ve met,” Pro-Hero Pinkie said, holding out her hand for you to shake.
“Oh! Right! Hi, I’m Y/N,” You introduced yourself.
“Mina Kirishima, and you know these two,” She gestured to her husband and daughter.
“I’ve heard a lot about you,” Mina said.
“Awe, how sweet!” You looked at Akita snuggled up into Bakugou’s chest as he talked to Red Riot.
“I meant Bakugou, but Akita’s been raving about you too,” Mina said, causing a blush to spread across your cheeks.
“Really?” You asked, more intrigued than ever. Your boss talks about you to his friends? Not outside of a professional standard, right? Mina nodded with a glint of mischief in her eyes, or maybe just a look of knowing more than you. You looked back at the gruff man who hadn’t really crossed your mind as a romantic interest. Or at least not seriously.
In passing he had popped into your mind. Like when he was so sweet to Akita, or when he came back all sweaty from hero work. He was a pretty-boy through and through, but it was never more than a passing thought until now. As your thoughts started flowing, a loud voice came from the stage at the front of the ballroom.
“Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen!” A beautiful woman announced. She wore a purple dress and had a cute short haircut. You recognized her as Pro-Hero Earjack. She had popped in once or twice at the agency with Chargebolt.
“The annual Hero’s Pride Awards has begun!” She announced. A loud applause followed and quieted back down as she spoke.
“As you know, the Hero’s Pride Awards are to show the individual strengths amongst the vast amount of heroes despite ranking,” Earjack said. They clearly have a script to follow, but the hosts always put their special twist on it. This was a publicized event, but it was much less so than the hero rankings. There were cameramen with cameras aimed at the hostess of the show and one or two capturing the crowd.
“Now, I will invite Pro-Hero Tsuyu Asui, aka Froppy, to present our first award,” Earjack said, handing off the microphone.
“Ribbit! The first award is for the friendliest hero! Someone who always keeps a positive attitude, a bright smile, and the manliest person I know! Give a big round of applause for Pro-Hero Red Riot!” The green-haired woman said, reading off the envelope she brought up to the stage. Red Riot’s smile brightened as he held a look of surprise. You clapped your hands with the crowd, watching him go up to the stage to accept his award.
You were distracted as Red Riot made a short acceptance speech, accepting his award gratefully. You were watching Bakugou’s content smile as Akita bounced in his arms and pointed up at her dad. He always had such pride in his friends, but never showed it, so seeing this was a rarity.
You smiled at the soft scene and hadn’t realized how long you’d been gazing over at him until Red Riot came back from the stage. You felt a small nudge to your side and looked over to a very smug Mina. She winked at you then darted her eyes to Bakugou, then back to you. The blush on your face spread quickly, even showing on your ears.
You shook your head at her, waving off the flash of hope panging in your chest. Bakugou’s your boss, and this is professional and a slight… maybe friend-like outing. Nothing more. He doesn't like you like that, so why is all of this bubbling to the surface now. She flashed a ‘hmm sure’ look at you and looked over at her joyous husband showing her his shiny award.
A few other awards were being presented and accepted, but your mind muddled them together after the second one. Your attention was regained as a man with a lightning bolt in his hair came onto stage in a nice suit. You recognized him as Chargebolt. He stood at the microphone with a bright grin at the crowd.
“This next award is for the most villains captured this year! With a whopping 362 villains captured, I am proud to present this award to the one, the only, Dynamight!” Chargebolt announced. You looked over at him in surprise with a smile. He handed Akita off to Red Riot and walked up to the podium.
As he went up, his chest puffed up with pride at the award. He has many awards, trophies and accomplishments that lined one of his walls in his office. He even kept his medal from the sports festival. Although you were still baffled at the teeth marks on it. He refused to tell you where they came from. He was handed a small golden award by Chargebolt as well as the microphone. Bakugou quieted the applause by clearing his throat.
“I didn’t prepare anything to say for tonight, but I want to say thank you. I’m just doing my job and doing what I love. Catching villains is easy for me, but this year, I’m looking to catch more than ever…” He started his speech. He had a flash of nervousness before he finished his speech.
“Now I’m trying to catch something, or rather someone much harder. So wish me luck, thank you,” He said, handing the microphone off to Chargebolt and walking off with his new prize.
“I wonder what he’s talking about,” You whispered to yourself, not expecting Mina to reply. She giggled at your comment, startling you.
“He’s looking to catch someone’s heart,” She informed you. You were surprised by the pang of jealousy and disappointment in your chest at her words.
“Really? I didn’t know he liked anyone,” You replied, trying to hide your disappointment. You failed though.
“You’ll know all about it soon,” Mina said slyly, turning to her husband with a knowing grin. You looked at her with a confused expression, but were cut off by Bakugou coming back with a proud grin.
“Congratulations,” You said as Bakugou reached earshot.
“Thanks,” He said in his usual gruff tone, but it had a gentler feeling to it.
“Look Daddy! Uncle Katsu got one too!” Akita exclaimed, pointing at Bakugou.
“Here kiddo,” Bakugou said, handing her the trophy to play with. She giggled and took it happily. You felt a hand touch yours, grabbing your attention away from the cute little girl. You looked over to Bakugou who was now holding your hand. He nodded his head to an opened door, somewhere you could get away from the crowd.
The two of you slipped away from the cameras, going out into the garden area. It was now dark outside, with the moon hanging low in the sky. The early evening air was barely above being chilly, but not enough to make you shiver. The gardens were surrounded by tall hedges, keeping you out of sight of any paparazzi that were hanging around outside.
Bakugou led you down the stone path through the pretty garden. Flowers lined the path with beautiful colors that were lit up by the moon’s light. You walked in silence with him, just thinking he wanted a way to have a minute of silence. You barely heard the award ceremony’s applause and announcers. It was such a peaceful night and the fresh air outside had a floral tint.
Bakugou had let go of your hand, but opted to rest one on the small of your back instead as he led you to a gazebo. It was all white, with some spinning vines climbing the surrounding pillars. The whole place was something out of a fairytale; Inside and out.
“Did you just want to get away from the noise?” You asked as you stood together.
“Partly because of that, but also because I wanted to talk to you,” He said. You looked over at him, seeing a rare sight. Bakugou was fiddling with his hands. He avoided looking you directly in the eyes, nervous that he’d chicken out on telling you what he wanted to. He had such a nervous stature, something you’ve never seen from him.
“I- Just-” He grumbled after not knowing how to start this conversation.
“I want to do this again,” He said, hoping you understood what he meant.
“You mean, bringing me to more events?” You asked.
“No, no, well yes, but-” He started speaking, but cut himself off.
“I want to take you out,” He ripped off the bandaid, finally looking into your eyes. His crimson gaze had a mix of hopefulness and uncertainty.
“Like… a date?” You asked carefully. You wanted to keep your job and asking that when that wasn’t what he was thinking could cause a big rift between you two; Professionally and as acquaintances.
“Yes!” He said, relieved that he finally said it and you understood. Everything clicked for you very quickly after the confirmation. This was a date. His speech was about you… and televised. He wanted to be with you enough to let the paparazzi see you with him. Is this actually happening? As your mind raced, it apparently made your brain malfunction.
“Me?” Was all you could say as you looked at him. You pointed at yourself, still gazing over at him in shock. Why?
“Who else?” He said, gaining some confidence at your flustered state. The flirty gaze he was giving you didn’t help your blush at all, it just made it much brighter. You floundered to find your words, or any words at his confession.
“Are you sure?” You said. Bakugou didn’t need to even think about your question before answering.
“Positive,” He replied. No one else had given him the same feeling as you. The fantasies he had only contained you. Not a random person, or someone faceless. It’s always you. You were so overtaken by shock that you stayed quiet for a moment. Bakugou became more nervous by the second.
“O-okay, yeah,” You replied.
“Yeah?” Bakugou asked in a hopeful tone, wondering if he was just dreaming.
“Yeah,” You nodded as you spoke.
“Good, how about Wednesday, after work?” He asked, and you nodded as a response. Tonight has been amazing, a literal fairytale. You just hadn’t realized that you’d actually be getting a prince charming at the end of it…
(Don't worry babes! Part 4 is coming soon!)
