This is a MegaStar Gemformers collection.

Starscream is a star-shaped pearl in different colors, and Megatron is an Obsidian.(G1/cybervers→Fire Obsidian；TFP→Rainbow Obsidian; SG→Blue Sheen Obsidian)

I picked Obsidian for Mega mainly because I once watched a SU analysis on YouTube saying that non-fusion Obsidians seem to be more like army-based construction workers — basically labor-class Gems. Not super high in status, but very powerful. And since we also see Snowflake Obsidian having some unique abilities in the show, it just felt like a really good fit.

As for Starscream… no explanation needed. Pearl-coded from the start 💅✨

where do sparklings actually come from? like. is someone birthing these things? are they spawning into the map? is primus launching them from the well of sparks and hoping they survive the landing?? are they crawling up from the ground like grubs?? i need to knowwwwwwwwwwwwwww

The process of forming a new spark starts when two mechs with compatible spark frequency spark merge! With enough consistency and bond there will be an eventual new spark.

Not much will change physically to the carrier, except the fact that they will develop a large apatite and will naturally grow thicker as a result. It is encourage for carriers to consume as much resources as possible! Because not only will those nutrients will go to developing the sparkling, it will also determine if the spark is healthy enough to survive to the next stage, which is…

New spark separation! Once the new spark is fully developed, it will naturally start to break off from the carrier’s, this process is painless but is extremely important due to how fragile new sparks is, and weaker ones might not survive being cut off from its main nutrients source.

Also, when the sparkling first separate from the carrier, they will look like a weird grey lump more than anything, it will take them a few hours to develop their kibbles and color! They will be largely immobile and unresponsive in this stage so the only way you will know if the sparkling survive the separation or not is to wait until they grow into their second stage.
