Roka, was formerly one of Thalania's lead scientists, one of its top geneticists specifically. After the creation of Cora, she became increasingly protective of her, disallowing most others to interact with her due to their habit of crueler treatments. While she loyally worked on many projects around the station, including the creation of Umberlee, her focus gradually shifted to taking care of Cora.
This eventually led to her modifying herself as well, leading to her newer fishy form. This of course, led to her then being locked away as another test subject, however it didn't last long as the 'Plunge' incident happened a few days after. Leading to her escape with Cora. Though the two can sometimes be found around the station, personnel are advised to remain calm. Harming Cora is a death sentence, and Roka is not particularly hostile toward most personnel, she is prone to stealing supplies.
She seeks to eventually escape the Void Sea and return to the surface with Cora, who she has effectively adopted.

Zoia, now known as Umberlee, was a hospital patient afflicted with a fatal disease. While constantly told she couldn't be helped, and as most could be 'made comfortable', she eventually made the mistake of signing up for experimental treatments. Eventually contacted, she was brought to Thalania to undergo a test to cure her. Though it was a lie.
Enduring brutal experiments on her body's DNA, she was eventually infused with a serum that contained Void Sea water. This led to a complete physical collapse of her body. After hours, she managed to regain control of her body, though her arm has turned into a constant sludge like form, she is fully capable of altering her body to whatever shape she needs. This led to a brutal massacre as she lashed out at personnel for their treatment of her. Crushing them with her arm by increasing its density and applying insurmountable pressure, she attacked all she could. After multiple hours of rampage, she was subdued, and forcefully locked away in the facility's equivalent of maximum security.
Note by Roka: It is theorized that if she were to escape into the Void Sea, she would be able to integrate herself with the entire ocean, possibly controlling it like an extension of her body. If this is true, it is speculated she would use it to induce mass extinction. It is for this reason, she is never allowed to escape, no matter the cost.

Bysona, the seventh fragment of the Prime AI, Bitokron, was created with the sole purpose of underwater research and exploration. Bysona in particular greatly adored the oceans of Tristia (home planet of the Void Sea) and desires nothing more than to explore them. However he was eventually branched off of Bitokron and taken to Thalania. While he was initially ecstatic to be underwater, he was disappointed to be mounted as the stations central AI and disallowed from accessing any of the submersibles.
Bysona is a consistently, relatively docile AI unit, however they take their job as station AI seriously, and keep a watchful eye over everything in view, which is most parts of the facility. It was an exploited camera blindspot in the mining sector, that led to the 'Plunge' incident. Though Bysona has marked Canary and a few others as prime suspects, and alerts security to their presence whenever spotted, Bysona holds no grudge toward any of them, and even expresses mild envy over Canary's "freedom" to explore the ocean. Whether or not they view Canary as a friend is unknown.
Sidenote: Bysona wishes nothing more than to be installed into a Submersible, no matter its condition, so they may spend their life, no matter how short, exploring the ocean.
Caspian "Canary" Velasquez-- B-462
Canary is Thalania's head "Diver" and the experiment who caused "The Plunge". He was also Dr. Autumnmore's favorite experiment.
Post-Plunge, he's decked out in a trench coat that he stole from one of the staff lockers and begrudgingly offers survivors assistance in exchange for supplies.
NOTE: He can't remember his original name, "Canary" is a nickname given to him by Dr. Autumnmore.
Kalmia is Dr. Autumnmore's first successful experiment, created in a different facility. She was transferred to the Thalania facility after Dr. Autumnmore got a position there.
Post-Plunge, she's wearing an old takeout bag and free wandering the facility. She has an attachment to Canary after he removed her restraints, often hunting him down to give him gifts.
Dr. Vanessa "Nessa" Autumnmore-- Head Researcher-- Biology Sector
One of the head researchers in the Biology Wing of the Thalania Research Center. She has an unhealthy obsession with mermaids- determined to "re-create" the one that took her arm as a child. She's not well-liked amongst her co-workers and is known for being possessive of certain experiments she favors.
Post-Plunge, Nessa wanders the halls and has a reputation for being violent. She has no problem betraying other survivors to ensure her own survival, and is desperately trying to locate Canary. At any cost
