Paradise in Koh Phagnan
A strip run by the Mafia, easily controlled as it is only accessible by boat. This means it is a haven in Thailand for all drugs - the police have no authority here, unlike in Haad Rin, where the Full Moon Party is.
The trio of beaches (called Haad Yuan, Haad Tien, Haad Whynam) was fully booked for the whole duration of being there - six nights. However, in paradise, one can sleep on the beach and on hammocks and the Reggae Bar will help you and keep your luggage safe.
The vibe of the place was an actual shock. I have never felt such friendliness and love. I lost my wallet, my bag, my phone and all these things got actively returned to me.
However when I was there, there were two very distinct types of people there.
I am proud to be one of the few who didn’t make the mistake of going to the Full Moon Party. Many dickheads came to Guy’s Bar, and they were indeed Sun Sex & Suspicious parent-esque. There were these people.
The other type were there for yoga & meditation. While a much older crowd, each were such interesting souls.
