Two artworks blending studio pottery and figurative surrealist sculpture.
The grotesques sprout from the neck of the pottery vases like spooky ectoplasm.
The faces are grimacing and bruised. I wanted to reveal turbulent inner emotions trapped inside a rigid external shell.
They were quickly and spontaneously formed from air dying clay to fit into the necks of two small pottery vases found in a charity shop.
I like the dove grey simple shaped pots.
