is it because i can't be him?

oh no. he was in deep, wasn’t he? but katsuki wasn’t a bitch, but rather, a massive brat. which was probably why he grins wide at tenya. “i can take whatever you’ve got.” he practically taunts.

god fucking damnit. why does his face get redder at that? why does that always get to him? fucking stupid fucking boyfriends. “you gotta make me.” he declares, though already weak. goddamnit.

good GOD why was he like this? did denki truly bring out the worst in him? “ooh, talk dirty to me, just like that.” he kind of wants to die, if his face getting flush was no sign of his embarassment.

well that threw him the fuck off. surprise is on his face, there’s no hiding it. he blinks, trying to find the best response in his brain. nothing is appropriate, and he’s trying to dial it back but he still yells. “IS THIS THE PART WHERE WE KISS?”

her own face was close to resembling that of a bright pink loading bar, prompting her to duck her head down to hide behind her hair and shuffle her feet in place– she was smiling too, though.  “y-yeah, of course. i-i know asking is hard.”

“o-oh. yeah of course, man!” he beams brightly as tenya takes his hand. oh no, he’s so cute. eijiro’s face flushes — his brain was going to shut down because tenya is way too fucking cute!

“oh– o-okay.”  she doesn’t really mind, she just wasn’t expecting it from him. it’s sweet, though, and she even goes as far as squeezing his hand in a reassuring manner with the smallest of smiles.

jaws stretch back in a yawn, the dragon seeming more relaxed than he had been minutes before. “stay as long as you need. it’s much cooler in here, thankfully. not sure izuku could handle that heat.” he muses before turning to look at the travelers. there doesn’t seem to be much in the cave, but this is only part of it, after all. 

“so, i’ve not seen humans here in a long time. where are you from?”

he was. . . sweet. far kinder than some of the other people and folk that they had met so far, but for a long stretch of their journey there had been a bounty on his head for ‘kidnapping’ the prince. enji was a bastard for that move when everyone in the castle could have easily figured out that wasn’t the case.

the dragon watches, red eyes narrowed. if they proved to be a threat, well… eijiro shakes, as though shaking himself off. resetting the brain or something. “no problem. i’m eijiro, and my friend izuku is currently swimming right now. dehydration or whatever.” maybe that would help keep his end safe too.

the dragon steps back, gesturing for them to follow.

shoto gave tenya a slight smile, but kept quiet. even so just that look was enough to reassure tenya and make him relax a little more. they would be safe. no one was going to take them back to the castle. both of them followed the dragon, hoping for the best.

“yes you can, man.” eijiro starts, and he means it. “it’s scary, but it’s doable. there’s still time to figure out who you are and who you want to be. you are more than your family.” he hoped that came out right. he knew from experience so he hoped it was enough.

eijiro sits in front of tenya and looks up at his friend. he wasn’t the best with words, but he thought he could do this. “that’s okay, too. you still have time to become whoever you want.”

at that, the dragon relaxes. call him naive, or whatever he needed to be called. he was wary enough, but could he live his whole life being afraid of every man-thing that came by? eijiro didn’t think so. the dragon notices the sword and can’t help the small chuckle. but he grins, head tilted to the side.

“yeah? well, you can certainly stay here. i don’t bite.”

the knight was still on edge, unsure, but the prince’s hand on his arm made him relax somewhat. it seemed shoto wanted to see what would happen and he was certain that if things went south between the two of them they could probably at least get away from the dragon.

“you’re you. and that’s enough.”
