Apollyon could be a nuisance sometimes… but for all the times he was annoying his work was actually helpful to him. “Actually I’m fine letting him keep doing what he’s doing, he takes out the competition and it’d be boring without him. Thanks for the offer but I really gotta go.” 

Haze side stepped around the… whatever he was, adjusting his jacket as his shoes tapped against concrete while making his way down the street. If Haze WANTED to take someone out he’d do it himself.

“Fine fine-- wallow in your own mediocrity. Though if you ever need help-- Just bleed on a shadow and I’ll answer.” He chuckled-- genuinely amused at how on edge this guy was. There was something interesting about him-- something wicked and resentful that lurked beneath the surface.

All humans were capable of malicious deeds. They simply needed the right motivation.

This one would be fun to play with.

Instinct proved right, he was dealing with the supernatural… and this wasn’t Black Hat. Still moving away from the shade his eyes narrowed, swallowing down the lump in his throat, “I don’t make deals with people I’m not familiar with, I’m more of a… self employed type.” Haze informed the other.

“I hope you have a-… successful night.” With that Haze walked briskly away, hand in his jacket wrapped around the hilt of his pistol for comfort. He wasn’t sure how well it would work but it at least gave him some reassurance. 

“Come on babe, don’t be like that.” His voice perforated the air-- he seemed to have vanished from where he’d been standing, only to walk out of a nearby alley, hands in his pockets. 

“I’m here to get to know you-- I wanna help with your little hero problem.” He explained, turning to face the male. There was an eerie smile on his face. This shady fellow wasn’t entirely stable-- or perhaps that’s what he wanted Haze to think. He had a reputation to think of, after all.

Something was certainly off, he was sure of it now. He felt his heart hammer as if to tell him to run, get far far away from this woman. His gut never failed him before, “I-… think its very obvious if you stuck with me you’d be in more harm than on your own Miss. I’ll be taking my leave.” His feet moved backwards, his eyes remaining fixed on her for caution’s sake.

“Such a shame-- no tact. That’s the problem with villains these days. They cannot fathom basic human decency.” She pouted-- a fog seemed to be rolling in, though the cover appeared darker-- greyer than usual. “What happened to introducing yourself to someone before torturing them to death?”

She crept ever closer-- appearing much more like a predator now. Her form shifted and warped as she did so.

Something about this woman was off, it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end… perhaps he should leave, “I’m fine waaaay over here ma’am. I’m out on business, nothing for you to worry about.”

The Shade is a notorious villain-- one rumored to have sailed in from the stars. Their gender is an enigma-- some claim that they’re a woman. Tall, with sultry curves and a seductive voice. Others claim that the Shade is a well-dressed man with a foul mouth and a cheeky grin. Regardless- they’ve gained a reputation in the Underworld.

It’s widely believed that the title of The Shade is simply passed down from master to pupil-- after all, there’s no way someone could have held onto the title for as long as the villain’s been active. They’d be ancient!

When the Shade commits a crime, they expect obedience. Those who challenge them are swiftly eliminated. So far no hero has succeeded in bringing them in.

There have been stories over the years of the Shade fighting for good-- though representatives for the villain say these are merely rumors. They’re not some anti-hero-- they’re well and truly...

“I hear you know your way around.” There’s a coy wink that accompanies the statement. Is she flirting with him? Oooh yes-- and she towers over the man by half a foot to boot. He’s right at eye level to her... neckline.

“I don’t need to prove it. I already know.” His tone is akin to a purr, allowing himself to be pulled by the coat without restraint. Darkside wasn’t exactly fond of the thing—but they usually came to an agreement Axel looked better without it anyway.

“Maybe I did, yeah,” he murmurs, leaning low enough so his curled lips ghost inches away from Darkside’s. “It’ll do wonders to my ego, you know. Saying that you missed little ol’ me, too.”

“I know you did--- and I guess I missed you too but---” He shifted closer, fingers playing with the ever-so-large zipper on his cloak. “Duties and all that bullshit.”

Without so much as a warning he tugged the zipper down, chuckling to himself. “This outfit of yours is laughable, you know? I mean-- I could imagine you fighting naked but man.” 

“Even if I did, you’d have a hell of a time proving it, sparky.” He retorted with a smirk, though he was all to eager to tug on that stupid cloak the other insisted on wearing. Thing was damn ugly.
