I need anyone who has an interest in music or just in general to know about this awesome app/website called Radio Garden! It lets you listen to radio stations from anywhere in the world!! It doesn’t have EVERY station ever (I think?) but it’s super cool and I think more people should try it out :]
Today was my birthday and this week was a bit packed because of that but I still managed to whip something up! This is Leshy aka “the hermit” they’re sort of the biggest mentor figure in Ks life so it’s a little wild I don’t do more art of them??? I definitely need to draw them more anyways.
Leshy is a sort of parental figure for K during the first leg of his journey, it’s kind of funny they both sort of haven’t spoken to a actual person in several years and so a lot of their interactions are very fun to write, Leshy as a whole is a character I need to flesh out more, being so instrumental in the first arc of the story and just also being fun to draw.
Also a bit of lore about paracosmic, Leshy is a species of alien called Arborians, which is a general term for the range of species that once lived in “the grove” star system. The subspecies Leshy is in particular is essentially a feline/fungus sort of thing? They’re like mostly humanoid but are also sort of a plant if you squint. Which is not to uncommon for Arborian species since they come from a planet which is basically a giant tree. (Hence the name)
the old OC i wanted to highlight for today is one from back in my DevientART days :]!!
I used to be a part of (and eventually started to help run!) an old pokemon cat group called pocket felines. this was one of my favorite ocs from that group, Hailey the vanilluxe!
i still think about the fact that i thought she was straight when i first made her. boy howdy was i wrong.
day one lets go! The prompt today was "favorite Oc" and while I love all my original characters equally...K is definitely the favorite child. I only had enough time to do a simple sketch today but I have ALOT to say about this little guy.
"K" was my FIRST character I came up with back when I first started on my comic Paracosmic, It was originally going to be a homestuck fan-comic actually! but as I kept writing It slowly became something all in itself. Heres a rough (very rough) design timeline I put together a few months ago:
K is the main character of Paracosmic and the story revolves around his adventure through the universe (along with a couple of other weirdos), and the many experiences he faces that challenge him to grow. Hes eccentric, awkward, and a bit naive and I love writing the dumb situations he gets himself in.
Hes my favorite because a lot of his character development involves this theme of learning to be ok with the past and also being ok with not knowing what happens next either, things I myself often struggle with. Hes been through a lot but somehow manages to come out of it as a stronger person and that's what matters!
I could yap forever about my little guy, hes just the coolest!

nope! re-uploading old stuff that fits the prompts is allowed (and encouraged) ... old art that didn't get the appreciation it needed always deserves a chance to be shared again, it's a fun throwback!

My favorite Giuseppe Festino covers from near the end of his run with the Italian sci-fi magazine Robot. These are from late 1978 and 1979. Bold colors, bold compositions.
I featured Festino's work in my free sci-fi art newsletter a few issues back, so check it out for more info. The final one here, with the decaying robot, was for the last issue of the magazine, before it was rebooted in the 2000s.
