I came across this from one of the Tumblrs I follow and thought it would be fun to create my own.
Favorite - Arcanine: This was an easy pick, hands down. I fell in love with this majestic dog (which I thought was a tiger at first 😂) at first sight, and I don't see any Pokémon replacing it any time soon. I make it a point to have one in my team if possible.
2nd Favorite - Dragonite: Right behind Arcanine is the original pseudo-legendary. Sadly, Dragonite is overshadowed by Salamence, especially with the latter receiving a Mega Evolution before the former (although Dragonite has its own thanks to Legends Z-A; I need to get that game soon), but Dragonite still has a fan in me.
Least Favorite - Jynx: This was a no-brainer. I don't like Jynx's design nor its cry in the games. I'll leave it at that since I don't want to be too negative.
Underrated - Primarina: Easily the most overlooked of the Gen 7 starters, Primarina is also considered one of the worst starters. Needless to say, I completely disagree. There are far worse starters. It's my favorite Gen 7 starter and I will not tolerate any slander towards the opera singing seal! 😤
Overrated - Greninja: Greninja is a fine Pokémon, but it's not this overly great Pokémon that it's made out to be. While it's design is cool, the scarf tongue icks me out.
Best Starter - Treecko: I usually gravitate towards the fire starters, but Treecko is my favorite of the bunch. The fact that it becomes the cool, bad*** Sceptile is a bonus.
Best Dynamax - Gengar: I wasn't into the Dynamax/Gigantamax thing in Gen 8. With that said, it was between Gengar and Snorlax as far as my favorite design was concerned, and I gave the slight edge to the ghost.
Best Mega - Metagross: As with Dynamax/Gigantamax, I didn't play around with the Mega Evolutions much. I have always liked Metagross's design, however, so here it lands.
Best Region Variant - Alolan Ninetales: I mean look at it! It is beautiful! In addition, the Ice/Fairy combo is a nice touch.
Best Eeveelution - Umbreon: Hands down the most popular Eeveelution, and yeah, it lands at the top for me as well. It has a cool design, and it plays differently from the other Eeveelutions.
Would Have As A Pet - Growlithe: Since I love Arcanine, it makes sense for me to want to have its pre-evolution as a pet. I know it would be loyal to a fault and a lot of fun to play with. Just have to be careful not to get burned!
Best Looking Shiny - Rapidash: I have always been partial to Rapidash's (and Ponyta's) shiny forms. I just find the gray flames really cool to look at.
IDK Why I Like This, But I Do - Alcremie: One of the cool things about Alcremie is the different forms it has depending on the sweet Milcery is holding and the way the character is spun. Also, I love how it looks like a dessert since I like to bake sweets.
Has A Personal Story Behind It - Chinchou: I was searching for Chinchou while trying to complete my Pokédex in Gold/Silver, and the first one I encountered was a shiny! Not only that, it was the very first shiny I had ever come across. I'm not someone who geeks out over shinies, nor do I go out of my way to find any. However, I will do everything I can in order to catch them when I do encounter them. So, that's my story about this Pokémon.
Very Nostalgic to Me - Mew: The original mythical legendary. I first saw this Pokémon in the first Pokémon movie and thought it was so adorable. I knew I wanted one in the game, especially after learning it could learn every TM and at the time HM moves. I was disappointed that it could only be gotten in certain events, but I still have a special spot for it.
