Alex: Hey Matt, so on the 4th it's Zoey's birthday and I'm hosting a surprise birthday dinner. Would you be willing to come? I promise you won't be the only staff/professor there. I just know it'd mean a lot to Zoey.

“Well I need to drown my sorrows about losing my faith in humanity so lets find a place,” he said, “you cool with riding on a motorcycle?”

Hearing her laugh and whoop like that still made him grin. Hearing her do it because of something he’d introduced her to did something else. He wasn’t surprised as she looped the parking lot, he didn’t even have to put that much into counterbalancing. Then again he hadn’t expected to. “She shoots she scores,” he said, “not that I’m the least bit surprised. Alright now it’s your turn to be Spider Monkey until we get you your license,” he said, swapping places with her on the bike. Throttling the engine he put the bike in gear and pulled onto the road. 

“I mean I’m not gonna force you,” he said. He grinned, “yeah, I’m fire. But my mom’s an earth witch, it was kind of a toss up which element I was gonna be. I wanted to be earth actually, lot of metal in computers, but then I was setting things on fire,” he shrugged, “Hades is associated with the earth. Hufflepuff’s the earth house,” he continued, “I was never much of a Gryffindor honestly.”

“That wasn’t bad for your first try, but we’re not going to be breaking any Kessel run records driving like this,” he said, “so now to turn, we lean the opposite way and counterbalance,” he continued, “fortunately we’ve got most of the weight on the back of it, so I’ll do the majority of that,” he joked, “but you’re driving so you set the turns.” He grinned offhandedly at her, “but we might have to get this thing moving at a slightly more reasonable speed for it to work. You make it all the way around the parking lot and lunch’ll be on me.”
