Biting his lip to stop an irate and sarcastic remark from passing through his lips a grumble found it’s way crawling up his throat , of course he knew what he was doing. Such a ridiculous statement not only wounded his pride but it had him rethinking just how intelligent the woman was , he’d like to see her do his job without leaving a single trace but then again , she had deemed him ‘ good enough ‘ to use for her own advantage so that was points in her favor.

Unfortunately for him , that knowledge was of absolutely no comfort as he tried to work on deactivating the security for the premises she needed to get into , for whatever reason ( even after last time ) she had decided to work with him on this but it didn’t mean he had to sit back and listen to her complaining. Which is why he huffed as he tore his eyes from the Lacrima to look at her.

Having just exited a local store , his ‘mission’ to stock up his food supplies having been carried out successfully , he was rather alarmed to have a large form nearly knock him to the ground. It caused his eyes to narrow in annoyance as he retrieved the drink that had fallen out of his bag , some people really had no manners , but when he looked up once more he noticed more than one man of similar size following behind a rather petite woman.

From what he could see , though , she had no idea they were there because every time she so much as looked in their direction they all but disappeared from view. If it weren’t for the fact this seemed shady , to say the least , he’d have found it amusing how such big men could hide so well and so fast. Not wanting her to be completely alone even if she could take care of herself , he made the decision to approach her , smiling brightly as he intercepted her movements.

Moving so that his arms wrapped around her lightly , he leant down so his mouth was to her ear and allowed his voice to drop to a whisper while hoping that she wouldn’t scream and push him away for being overly friendly. He didn’t like people touching him , especially strangers , but she was so little he couldn’t help but worry for her safety.

Though not normally prone to having thoughts of violence, at least not so soon after beginning an interaction, Minerva found herself wanting to tear the man before her apart. First, he seemed to be disregarding the ‘trouble’ she could give him, but maybe he just really didn’t know who she was. And the way he implied she had no idea what was going on…it irritated her like the incessant buzzing of a fly, and it grated her pride.

She, the collector of information, the strategist…if he knew better, he would know there was no way she wasn’t aware of everything that went on around her, in her ‘territory’ so to speak. Was he trying to piss her off and offend her? It seemed likely. Perhaps he was even hoping that by injuring her pride, she would be compelled to help him with the job just to prove him wrong.

Whatever the case, Minerva forced her heated anger down. Nothing of her emotions had been shown so far, even while she inwardly struggled for control over her urges, she’d had far too much practice in hiding her feelings and reactions to be given away so easily (though perhaps a slight rise in magical pressure had occurred momentarily).

“I assure you, I am perfectly aware of what’s going on in there, this is my mission after all. Five dark mages are inside, two of average level, two of above and one significantly higher but still of no comparison to me.”

Watching her with eyes far too perceptive he was surprised to discover that her expression barely changed despite the influx of magical power emanating from her before she apparently reigned it back in , had he hit a nerve with his words ? That was unsurprising , he rarely did converse with people in person so what had been him merely stating the facts laid out before him probably had come out more sarcastic than intended.

What surprised him more , however, was the fact that her words seemed to give more away than she probably intended , was she possessive over her mission ? That was certainly how it appeared , which meant it would probably be best if he made it clear he had no intention of taking over , right ? Considering she’d be getting paid for the mission he’d already looked up prior to attempting to infiltrate the building , it really was the least he could do , he wanted nothing to do with the men inside.

Frowning as he navigated the thick brush that led into the deeper parts of the forest he sighed and continued on the path he’d mapped out through images that had been taken from above beforehand. Whatever this person wanted , they had better be prepared to pay for the information he’d need to acquire for them because while he did often venture out of his home to gather information , meeting like this was rather unheard of with him. He preferred others to not know his face.

Exiting into the correct clearing now he sighed as he swept the area for bugs, it had been his decision to come thirty minutes early because he never trusted other people but now that he was sure the location was secure , he had nothing to do. It appeared he wouldn’t have to wait long , though , as a woman approached in a dark cloak , the guild symbol he knew belonged to Crime Sorciere which meant this was probably Angel if his memory served correct ( or an imposter ).

Josh is studying at university , going through everyday life , majoring in computer science. While he is doing this he is also working on the side as a hacker , normally his tasks consist of espionage type work , gathering information for those paying him!

Josh is a freelance mage , who works for Jewels and only goes through word of mouth to get his business around as it is very shady , his main magic is a very specific ( and forbidden ) form of Archive magic that allows him to easily collect / steal data from Lacrima crystals. He can also lift information straight from peoples minds ( unless they know how to shield ) but he rarely does this unless the person is a Dark Mage / threat , Josh is a Light Mage but he doesn’t care much for ethics and kills bad people rather easily.

Josh was a hacker that wanted to see what all the fuss was about after all the players had already been trapped in Aincrad and managed to hack his way into the game , he had originally left a channel open with the expectation that he would be able to get back out but this wasn’t the case. The servers instantly closed Josh’s channel , as they had with everyone else , and Josh ended up trapped in Aincrad but luckily he had prepared for such a thing to happen and hired a nurse to look after his body should he not be able to disconnect. He is known in Aincrad as Phoenix and focused specifically on stopping PK’ers
