Theres a timeline where Hephaestus did actually turn Drizzt into a black dragon in sojourn.
He probably has Guen who is now a house cat to him in size steal a book from a wizard to polymorph back
Is he just back to drow or is the magic so strong he's now just a dragon who can become a drow (bit like how metallic dragons in 5e can willingly polymorph). Or does he get back to drow but decide to keep the spell handy because funny.
Artemis kidnaps Regis and instead of boat adventures it's just Cattie and Wulfgar rocking up to Calimport on the back of a dragon and Artemis has twice the amount of regrets he usually has.
Does Drizzt now have really bad acid indigestion when in drow form
Do his sneezes become a hazard even in drow form
If he gains hoarding instincts, what does he hoard. I like to think forest stuff, acorns, stones, bones, plants, mushies. I feel like weapons are also a good candidate, maybe a side collection.
Does he gain the appetite of a dragon, man is h u n g r y
Does he loaf because the only four legged creature he has to copy is Guen and it's already been described that dragons tend to have feline movements.
Because drow are little short asses is he a small dragon, like a runt of the litter situation.
Is he ashamed of it? Or does he not know how to explain so he keeps it hidden? What level of "of fuck!" Does he consider worthy of bringing the dragon out? How much time does he spend as a dragon? If he just keeps the spell around for funny does he switch dragon types? If so which would he favour? Do lingering effects in drow form get influenced by what type he last was? Running really warm or cold, smelling funky (or more funky than normal according to that one guy in a later book apparently), giving people so many static shocks
Drizzt doesn't need this extra chaos but it would be funny
