Name Tiffany Le Location Garden Grove, CA, USA What do you do? I’m a freelancer illustrator, and also a MFA graduate, who finished up my degree with a solo exhibition this past April at Cal State University of Long Beach. With a broad focus like illustration, I dabble a lot in different fields from concept art, galleries, zines, etc. - usually under influences of pop culture, comparative mythos and literature, Asian-American experiences, and current affairs. My current project and focus at this time circulates a topic that’s been haunting me for most of my latter academic career: the importance of cultural history and connection. Having explored it somewhat in my undergrad, I could not really escape the need for narrative, especially where words were ineffective; thus, by documenting my family’s stories, my grad show Tàu explored Vietnamese-American cultural history and refugee struggles through the metaphorical depiction of boat and water imagery in both installation and illustration.
