As soon as missing girls are mentioned, Elizabeth just knows itâs something about Rapture--same as Jack. Her fists clench up and she can feel her breathing already becoming more difficult.Girls--same as the ones Jack had rescued and the same as she herself had been.Â
It made her sick, but she also wanted to do something, even if she knew she couldnât leave Jack and the girls.Â
  âYou're...you're kidding me.â she shakes her head, trying to combat forming tears, and lets out a shaky sigh, âGod...everything flows back to that place, doesn't it? I hope Doctor Tenenbaum will be alright on her own. Iâm not going to leave you when weâre all already struggling here.â
Tenenbaum had played a part in Raptureâs horrors, but Elizabeth had seen she was trying to right her wrongs. It didnât make her deeds any less terrifying, but she didnât want her to die for her sins.

He tossed the butt of his cigarette into a puddle and nodded a bit at her words. He was silent for a while, moving through Raptureâs halls and walkways with a practiced ease. He made sure to keep an easy pace for Elizabeth.

âFair point.â she nods, making room so Courier can come in, âRight now, I have some turrets, but they get them every time. Theyâre pretty costly to fix, too.â
âYeah, saw em outside.. Pretty easy to spot and pop off.â Isabella said as she came inside. holding a hand over her right eye in a ring shape and with her left making a finger gun motion.

Elizabeth nods, scrambling awkwardly to the coffee table in the small shackâs living room.
She grabs a piece of paper and puts it in front of Isabella, âHere. From when I was planning what to do with this place.â
As she lets the other woman look it over, she grabs a Nuka Cola from the fridge and puts it, too, in front of her, âIâm sure Desdemona wonât care. Besides, you must have had a long journey.â
She offers a shy smile of encouragement.

Elizabeth removes her hand when he flinches, feeling a bit of guilt bubble up for startling him like that. Hearing him doubt himself and seeing how broken heâs become broke her heart. She had her own apartment and job now as well, but being around Jack was where she felt most safe. She spent as much time as she could around he and the girls.
â'Turning into youâ? Oh, Jack,â she sighs, âYou are a good man. Trust me when I say I know what a horrible father is, and you are not one by a long shot.â
Her own father was both physically and mentally abusive, making it hard to believe that someone could actually care like Jack did. Yet, here he was, making sure everything was okay for everyone else before himself.
âSure, you have flaws, but so does everyone. If those girls learn anything from you, theyâll only be good ones. I think...I think a school will be good for them. They can finally be kids. What I wouldnât give for that...â she mutters the last sentence.

She, herself, only seemed to have a headache from the anomaly, but Jaal seemed to be faring much worse.
She gasps when he falls, almost immediately running towards him, crouching beside him.
âJaal! Are you okay?â she questions, a hand on his forehead to feel for a higher temperature or anything that could give some kind of clue as to what, exactly, was wrong, âStay with me.â

âThe sooner weâre gone, the better.â Elizabeth mutters taking the supplies and stuffing it in her pack quickly before following after him, pistol and plasmid ready as well.

âItâs okay, Jack.â she shrugs it off, âI know youâre stressed and, honestly, you still have a point.â
It wasnât as though sheâd not had worse, either, with her father. Sheâd panicked when the splicers had shown up and been less inconspicuous than she knew they needed to be to get out of Rapture alive and, comparatively, well.
"Iâll be more careful.â she says, looking around to make sure no more enemies got the drop on them again.
