I was finally able to get back on Twitter today.  To do so took my forking over around $20 for a pay as you go plan on my existing mobile device, so that I had an existing mobile number for verification to prove to Twitter that I’m a human, basically.  I also wanted to have the ability to make emergency calls and to send texts, as I’ll hopefully be doing a bit of volunteer work outside the home, soon!

Curiously, it’s taken until my 5th blog post to address my stance regarding the wearing of Masks when out in public.

My stance is, very simply that anyone who refuses to wear a Mask without a damn good medical reason, is selfishly contributing to the COVID-19 pandemic.  FULL STOP!

The most important thing to remember regarding Mask wearing:  This isn’t to protect the wearer, but others around the wearer should the wearer be unknowingly carrying the COVID-19 virus, but hasn’t been yet diagnosed.  The basic principle is, the higher percentage of people that properly wear a mask when they are around others, the fewer outbreaks there will be, and the sooner this pandemic can be brought under control.  

Of course, social distancing is also vital, but wearing a mask greatly reduces the distance COVID-19 laced droplets can travel, which is especially vital when social distancing sometimes inevitably gets compromised.

I know that I only set up this Tumblr account last night.  To say that I’m really green about Tumblr and how it works is a pretty vast understatement.

That said, posting blogs without so much as a like, and having 0 followers is kind of demoralizing.  When it comes to the social media aspect, Tumblr ain’t no Twitter or even Facebook.  To be fair, it does appear that Tumblr is meant to be a supplement to either of those platforms, rather than a standalone.  Of course, me following more than 2 Tumblr accounts (Including Tumblr itself!), one of whom I also follow on Twitter, would probably be helpful, but I’m just kind of hesitant to do this, at the moment.

It is absolutely killing me that I can’t post on Twitter, right now!  Donald Trump has just tweeted out some garbage about suburbanites no longer having to worry about low income housing in their neighborhood!

I’m currently feeling the frustration of being cut off from my Twitter account.  At the moment, I’m looking into starting a limited pay as you use mobile phone account, using an old, existing device.  While having an existing mobile number would likely be very helpful in restoring my Twitter access more quickly (Who knows how long I’ll have to wait for a response from Twitter Support otherwise?), not to mention the ever increasing likelihood of needing a mobile phone number for future verification issues since landline numbers are being less and less accepted for such; I also really want this set up as an emergency, as I expect to soon be doing a bit of volunteer work outside the home, and I want the ability to phone or text, if needed.

Hopefully, our son can drive me to a local mobile phone outlet this Friday, where they can hopefully set up an account on my mobile phone device.  No, I don’t drive.  Never have.

Today (OK, it was technically yesterday!) proved to be rather frustrating in more ways than one. 

First off, I had what proved to be a very stressful messenger convo with a Facebook Friend over the Barr Congressional hearings (Initiated by him!), which he thought the Democrats imposed fascist type tactics, which I wasn’t exactly in lock step with opinion wise, to say the least.  Yep, I did say it was VERY STRESSFUL!

Worse still, very soon afterward, my Twitter account got restricted due to the ever ambiguous “unusual activity detected” b.s; so much for me venting my frustrations on Twitter, for the time being.  Also, much to my chagrin, I discovered that Twitter no longer sends security codes to landlines, and I don’t have a mobile number (Yeah, I know it’s 2020, LOL!).  Therefore, I now have to wait at least a few days in the hopes that some live Twitter agent can help me to get back into my account, so that I can begin posting anew!
