Success! My first attempt at salt/ albumen printing.
Made via contact printing in the sun. Paper was coated in filtered, salted egg whites. After it dried, it was pressed and floated on a 12% solution of silver nitrate. All solutions were prepared by myself using a kitchen food scale.
The most complete of the photos (of a tea set at Dobra Tea in Northampton, MA) was painted with AgNO3 instead of floating. I now realize it’s VERY important to get good nitrile gloves, don’t go bare handed or use cheap vinyl gloves. I’ll have these stains for at least a week.
I think I’m ready to take on William Henry Fox Talbot!
