I absolutely love the idea of Rude and Tifa sparring together.

Idk if these were supposed to be separate, and I had an idea, so I’ll be answering in two parts! Second part to come later.

(Also, I need to figure out how to make these shorter. This was cut down a few times and it’s still super long for a prompt. Anyway.)

29 - the one where your soulmate’s ghost haunts you when they die

Leonard looked up from the book he was reading as the lights in his apartment flickered once. Twice. Three times. And then went dead.

Putting his book to the side, he reached for the knife tucked into his boot. There weren’t any storms, and if someone had cut his power, it would have gone out without all the theatrics. Still, this was…unusual.

He hated unusual.

Getting to his feet, Leonard stepped towards the door, cocking his head to the side as he listened for any sound of an intruder or someone waiting outside. Looking through the peephole in his door, he didn’t see anyone out there, and the lights were on -

He frowned, pulling back a little and looking around his darkened apartment again. He almost jumped when static shot from his tv, the snowy screen of a dead channel echoing through the room. Leonard moved towards it, but stopped halfway, as the temperature dropped suddenly.

From the television came an echoing, slightly feminine voice, but distorted.

“Wh-where am I?”

Before Leonard could answer, not that he was going to, the television went dark and the lights snapped back on, the cold spot disappearing.

Putting his knife in his boot, Leonard closed his eyes and let out a sigh.

“Fuck.”

“I know you used to be depressed for a long time, and I want to know what your motivation was to change something to not live that way anymore?”

“I think it’s important to have something to do, something to look forward to, and something to love. If you have those three things in place, then…it is not a cure-all for depression…it’s not a cure-all for mental health issues…but it’s a place to hang your hat. It’s something around which you can build your day. It’s a starting off; it’s a foundation, at least…to go from there.”
