seeing students getting their ap art scores, and being confused about the lower grade. from my understanding, college board also encourages you to show off your progress in a callout sheet of your art piece. i did a sustained investigation on immigration but some of my portfolio pieces were progress shots of my illustration from thumbnail to finish. also your writing is a big factor on the grade
stuff like this was in my portfolio

It is such a hopeless feeling to see someone who is a dear friend, who you care so deeply about living with a constant threat on their life and not be able to help.
It has been 3 years of genocide in Gaza, and people like my friend @mohdayesh are still trapped in Gaza with no escape from their treacherous daily life.
Mohammed's wife is pregnant and to this day dealing with the pain of having a bullet lodged in her chest. And Mohammed is bearing the responsibility of trying to keep his family taken care of to the best of his abilities with the limited resources he can get his hands on.
Mohammad and I often spoke of his desires to start a life for himself and his wife outside of the war zone, away from the genocide, where they can finally have a taste of safety and security. There is nothing more that I want than the ability to snap a finger and help him achieve their dreams, but unfortunately that's not within my power. All I can do is plead with you to help.
Mod'd is my friend and someone I've been working with for the past 3 years to ensure that you can trust where your money is going and weed out harmful actors taking advantage of the crisis in Gaza. And he has worked tirelessly to that end. He often doesn't ask for help for himself because he wants to see others thrive, but now he has a wife and a child on the way and he can't sit and watch as they suffer in this genocide.
He is trying to reach a preliminary goal of £3,000 on his gofundme, and has reached £2,046/£3,000 up until the time I'm writing this post.
But you can also help via his paypal!
And please share this post!!
My name is Mohammed ayesh from Gaza Recently, I started a new chapter in my li… Shelley Gordon needs your support for Support Ayesh’s family
Go to paypal.me/MAyesh674 and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.
£2,629/3000 raised!

Ask for Kazaks, Kyrgish, Tajiks and other West and Central Asian people, whose country was formerly part of the USSR/Russian Empire:
If you didn't have to use the Cyrillic alphabet for your language, which script would you rather use? Would you rather your language had its own alphabet? Are you aware of other alphabets/writing systems used previously in your country?
I'm very curious.
Hey, Qazaq here. I personally prefer the Latin script and a spelling reform with it because it would bring us closer to Turkic countries that have already made the switch and, in my biased opinion, speed up our international integration, which is mostly Latin-based. Our current Cyrillic alphabet is just the copypasted Russian one + extra Qazaq letters which 1) bloats the alphabet, 2) leads to mispronunciation as people read letters the Russian way. I heavily dislike our orthographic choices too. Unfortunately, our current Latin variant still sucks and even the government seems to have swept the issue under the rug for now (which is a whole different topic).
Before that we used yañalif (Latin script of the 1920s-1930s), Arabic script (pre-revolution), and in the 8th century, Turkic runes, but there was no “Qazaq state” to speak of back then. I know you didn't really ask about the probability of these scripts being adopted but I thought it'd would give you the bigger picture.
Yañalif would be too confusing to implement now because it uses unsupported characters and a mix of Cyrillic ones with different pronunciation (f.ex. <ь> was /i/, <в> was /b/) which would trip up modern readers who are used to Cyrillic.
Arabic would never be supported by the government because it would stray from its West-oriented policy, plus it has religious associations too, so you have that baggage as well. It's still used by diaspora in China and Afghanistan. It honestly makes me sad because we miss out on possible communication with each other.
Runes are just a nationalist's pipe dream. They look cool and are the only “native” writing system you can think of, but there are too many problems with their implementation: they're not phonetic, make for poor fluid writing (they were meant to be carved, after all), they're isolating as we'd be the only ones using them, and so are harder to teach to people, unlike Latin with which everyone has some degree of familiarity and which is more practical in real life.
