not going to be super elaborate when it comes to my choices of clothing design for characters, because i sometimes draw them the way they are because they look cool. but, the reason why i drew dorian with something that doesnāt resemble his starting armor, was because itās more of a visual storytelling element, with him becoming more accustomed to the south (well, getting used to it with as much as he can). thereās still pretty tevinter-ish traits with the giant cloak with the snake scales that resembles to one that he wears in the game, a snake pendant, and even tiny snakes on his doublet. but itās general style is southern. itās a clash between him and where heās from, and then, the setting. where he currently ends up in the story. itās practical but itās still him with his giant collar being a pretty big component with his character design, with how he accessorizes, and the overall attire, still contains his maximalism (but simplified). also the sword. i donāt like how dai took away how your mages can be fatigued when they use up all their mana, so his sword is like a secondary weapon for cases when heās not doing magic
