This choice was made against their own wishes, due to soul forcing them to either give him 25% of the revenue or sell the game to a Big Company That Produces Slop And Drains The Love And Passion Off Games

the devs had no malicious intent behind letting soul have a share, yes, it is bad that he’s still getting paid out of this, but it was a choice made for the better of the game.
