The amount of stress that Deborah had to cope with for a large portion of her life reminds me of Veterans who have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Everyday life becomes more complicated because many of them constantly feel as if they are reliving those traumatic memories. Itās also difficult because they feel lonely and other people canāt fully grasp what life is like in that condition. In Deborahās case, she felt as if her family had been exploited and her privacy invaded. She became overwhelmed and that seemed to be her only emotion. Businesses had made millions off of her mother, while she was left with nothing. This sense of emptiness is present within both stories.
