🏴 The Italian Chapel on the Scottish Isle of #Orkney, is a Roman Catholic Chapel, affctionately named "The Miracle of Camp 60". The chapel was constructed by Italian prisoners of war, captured in World War II, for their own use. Whilst the exterior is made of prefabricated semi-cylinder steel (usually used to make the barracks), the interior was covered with plasterboard and painted. The rectangular tiles on the wall are actually just painted on. The light holders were made out of corned beef tins. And the baptism basin was made from the inside of a car exhaust, covered in a layer of concrete. Fitting for today, I could do with a Chapel! My back has been in and out of spasm since 2am. Hope it eases off soon 😪🙏.
