I was thinking just now. And Iβm wondering if outside of the tsaritsa and his family, Childe doesnβt actually have anyone to lean on. Thereβs the traveler, sure, but even in game lore, theyβre not super close, and the traveler and Paimon still donβt trust him.
Childe doesnβt seem like the kind of guy to willingly let someone in, so he probably keeps people at armβs length regardless, because itβs far easier than dealing with feelings and dependancy, but the downside is it leads to an incredibly lonely life.
Maybe a part of him wishes he could open up and actually let people in instead of hiding because his title, but after everything heβd been through, Childe probably feels like itβs just inviting more trouble, and he wants to appear strong and independent to the masses

I keep thinking about Childe and what kind of relationships he prefers. Like I can see why people ship Childe x Traveler, as they did work closely together but like.
I feel like Childe especially would be drawn to someone who actually trusts him. Heβs a harbinger, loyal to the Tsaritsa and Snezhnaya, but Childe is also a person, and wants someone to see him beyond his titles. Everyone has duties and loyalties, and he wants a partner that can look past what he is and open up to him freely.
Childe may be guarded and initially come across as arrogant or haughty, but Iβd like to think that romance wise, heβd just want someone to accept all of him.
