What do you think of when you hear the word Lacoste? For me, the words that come to mind are: classic, sporty chic, French, tennis, golf, alligators, and iconic. I also immediately think of one of my most treasured possessions, my grandmother’s turquoise velour vintage Lacoste zip up track suit top. I somehow managed to steal from her wardrobe some years ago when I was a young girl. It’s still so cool (and so is she at 82!).

After the successful launch of the men’s fragrance L.12.12, the team at Lacoste began development on what would become known as L.12.12 Pour Elle. The launch of this female fragrance is significant for a couple reasons: the first being that house founder and true visionary René Lacoste valued female athletes and fashion in sport on the tennis courts of the 1920s. Hemlines were coming up and two influential women (one was his wife who was a pro golfer) were always his guinea pigs for new designs. His pleated tennis skirt, which was worn with an air of sophistication and femininity, is the inspiration for this trio of new fragrances.

L.12.12 Pour Elle ($59-$76) is a trio of fragrances to represent three different moods of the “Lacoste women.” My personal favorite, in a lovely shade of green bottle is Natural with a clean, easy and effortless scent that blends coconut with Orris. The floral Elegant scent has an updated power girl vibe. And lastly, in bright pink, the most fun and sweet smelling scent is Sparkling pairing French macaroon and Patchouli. Not for the faint of heart, this playful scent will definitely lead to a crazy night out on the town.

As women, we are constantly obsessing over how to straighten, lengthen, curl, or style our hair. But guys need advice too, especially if they have curly hair, which is notoriously hard to maintain. My father and grandfather both were blessed with long curly locks that they styled perfectly, but with a lot of work. So what should dudes with curly hair be doing to look great? We turned to the experts for advice:

Shampoo, it’s not your friend. Conditioner is a curly guys new BFF, not shampoo. “Men with curly hair must understand the importance of shampooing the scalp less often and conditioning their curls more often,” explains Chadwick Pendley, Ouidad Salon’s Master Artistic Educator. While shampooing does “clean” your hair, you really only need to do it when you think your hair is actually dirty. Conditioner and rinsing will still clean your hair, but you won’t be stripping out the moisture that you desperately need for your curls.

Fighting frizz is easier than you think: Curls can quickly turn to frizz if you aren’t careful. Groomer-to-the-stars Diana Schmidtke says, “Stick with grooming creams to tame frizz. You can apply the creams wet or dry and they won’t look crispy like gels.” She recommends Malin+Goetz Sage Styling Cream as a go-to product. Schmidtke advises “You'd be surprised how easily you can tame you unruly curls with the right styling product, tools and technique.” A frizz culprit to look out for is your hair dryer. “If you need to dry your hair simply attach a diffuser to the end of your blow dryer and diffuse your curly hair,” advises Pendley. One of his fave prods is Ouidad's VitalCurl define & shine styling gel-cream. This will dry your hair while protecting it from frizzing.” My guess is most guys don’t know what a diffuser is, and let’s be honest, won’t go to the trouble of figuring it out. So an easy alternative is to just let hair air dry to avoid both frizz and damage.

Find the right barber. Find a barber that knows how to work with curly hair. Genevieve Bochanty, National Associate Director of Education and Capabilities at the The Art of Shaving® says, “It is important to make sure your barber cuts your hair for curl, versus a straight style. The technique is different. A barber who knows how to work with curly hair will cut with the curl and not against it so it naturally flows better.” Make sure to have a conversation with your stylist before the chopping begins.

You can go straight: We all want to embrace what we were born with, but sometimes you just want straight hair. There are many treatments men can also get such as keratin to kill frizz and even Brazilian blowouts to make hair go totally straight. Lastly, if you just can’t handle it anymore, lucky you, you can always rock a buzz cut.

There is no place like the World Series to see baseball at its finest. Bonus if you want to see some amazing guy hair, as beards, flows, staches, and goatees are all in full force. The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals series stands 2-0 Royals, but the guys are sporting some of the most major flows and longest-growing playoff beards of the season. Hairstyles of all sorts are so popular now in the MLB that Mets nation even created a hashtag to cheer their players on, #hairwego. But the most hair-famous Met, Jacob deGrom, was quoted at a press conference Tuesday saying, “It's driving me nuts, I've got to get rid of it [laughs].” The teams haven’t won a series since 1986 (Mets) and 1985 (Royals), and competition is fierce. We will see who is the best team in the nation. As for who has the best hair, that’s still in the running.

I’m not a big Halloween person, I don’t love wearing a lot of makeup, and I feel most comfortable in my jeans and a t-shirt. But when the opportunity arose to take part in a Halloween themed beauty shoot with our team and MAC, I almost fainted. Well, not really, but I was excited. Some girls on our team knew right away what they wanted to be — I did not. I knew old Hollywood for sure, because that’s the closest to my personality. When I started thinking and researching ideas it immediately dawned on me: Liz Taylor as Cleopatra! Taylor as Cleo might be the original and baddest bitch of all time look. As the last active Pharaoh of Ptolemaic Egypt, Cleopatra clearly had a bad gal side, but also a lot of confidence, wit, and sexiness.

Being paired with MAC Senior Artist Gina Bettelli was a dream. A fellow Italiana, she understood where this was going from the start and executed the look like a BOSS. When it comes to Cleopatra, her ultimate accessories are her eyes! Mysterious, dark and unpredictable, but paired with perfectly symmetrical eye makeup. Caution: This is not a look to casually test out, it’s delicate and time consuming and requires attention to complete on your own at home!

EYES & BROWS Considering the precision and planning needed for this look, Bettelli started by creating a high arch and darkening my brows with MAC Kohl Eye Shadow in Smolder ($17) using a MAC 266 Small Angle Brush ($20). Mapping out where your brow tails and liner are going to ultimately connect is a must.

For the cyan blue shadow Bettelli mixed a MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Clearwater ($22) with MAC Chromaline Hi-Def Cyan ($20), which was buffed from lid to brow using a tapered blending brush. She highlighted the inner corner of the eye with a blending brush and MAC Eye Shadow in Gesso ($16).

Now this is where you really need to pay attention — liner is up. Firstly, for the upper line you must start the line in the center of the under eye by holding the angle brush parallel to the brows. The lower waterline was lined with MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating ($17) to give the appearance of larger eyes. MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($17) was also wrapped under the eyes and drawn into a geometric shape that met the brow tail using another angled brush. Keep in mind that eyeliner on the lower lid should be straight and totally symmetrical. On the top lash line Bettelli used MAC Creme Liner in Black ($17) and MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ ($22) (a soothing mist) with a MAC 210 Precise Eyeliner Brush ($20) on top of the Fluidline for a rich inky black color. Make sure to connect the inner corner liner with the top lash line to the lower lash line to close the bridge of the nose.

Mascara is not the hero in this look as in most others, but used to make the top and bottom lash roots look jet black. Final eye tip: Use your small angled brush with MAC wipes to sharpen edges like an eraser. Stand back from the mirror to gain perspective and ensure balance and symmetry of the eyes.

SKIN For flawless, starlit skin Bettelli used MAC Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation ($33) for full and matte coverage and set it with MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation ($27). Since I’m not an exact Liz Taylor replica, she sculpted cheeks with MAC Powder Blush in Taupe ($17) giving a beautiful pop and MAC Sculpting Powder Pro Palette in Bone Beige ($17). The center of the face was highlighted with MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Light Boost ($26) in a triangle shape.

LIPS Cleopatra’s look is all about eyes, so Bettelli went with a matte, peach lip. Use a MAC 242 Shader Brush ($25) if needed and apply peach toned lipstick. Make sure to add balm to lips right at the start so they are nice and smooth for the finished look.

HAIR This was arguably the easy part to the look. A short raven black wig was brought by stylist Nate Rosenkranz and sheared into short tight bangs and pinned straight to avoid curling at the bottoms. The headpiece is then placed on top to complete the look. Of course, resting bitch face is also required!

Supermodel, check. Actress, check. All around fitness badass, check. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is gorgeous, can rock any look, and has graced the runways of Victoria’s Secret as one of its “angels,” but she’s also refreshingly cool and down-to-earth. Coming off her latest role in Mad Max: Fury Road, the brand ambassador for Moroccanoil’s campaign “Inspired by Women” chatted about the work that goes into maintaining that incredible bod, having a family full of fitness lovers, and the importance of indulging.

Yahoo Beauty: Let’s talk about your involvement in the Moroccanoil “Inspired by Women” campaign. The female confidence and empowerment trend in fashion and beauty right now is so amazing. 

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: I’m thrilled to be a part of something that highlights women who have been doing such incredible things and making a difference in the world around them. It just seemed like a really fun, meaningful kind of project that I don’t often get to do. We hope it helps women build their confidence and carve out that unique path to help them pursue their dreams.

I love Moroccanoil — it’s amazing for my really curly hair. Do you have a Moroccanoil hair regimen or favorite products?

I’m a big fan of the Moroccanoil treatment as well. It’s kind of the hero product that put them on the map eight years ago. It’s interesting you said you use it on your really curly hair, because I use it on my kind of fine hair. It’s one of those treatments that is just incredible for all types of hair. I love how weightless it is and it makes my hair feel healthy and manageable. Hydration is very important to me for my skin because I’m traveling all the time, and I’m moving from one climate to the next. I love to use the Pure Argan Oil, and they also have a Fleur D’Oranger Body Soufflé, which smells incredible. 

How do you keep your skin hydrated and looking great?

Well, I think first of all, for me you have to sometimes accept that things aren’t always going to be perfect, and that’s the number one. I’m really diligent about drinking a lot of water, and one of the most important things is getting a good amount of sleep. I also see my facialist, Shani Darden, about once a month and she does a really good, deep cleanse for my skin. I think it’s important to invest in the best products you can afford. The skin you live in in so important. I’m very, very diligent about wearing sunscreen. I’ve lived in L.A. for the last five years, and I don’t leave the house without sun cream on. I have the Moroccanoil SPF 50 if I’m going to be out in the sun walking the dogs or on a hike or just out and about playing tennis or on the beach. You have to keep your skin protected.

I’ve seen your brother Toby Huntington-Whiteley on Instagram doing cool fitness stuff. I was also reading that your mom is really into fitness and was an instructor. Do you all motivate each other?

My mum was an aerobics teacher in the ’90s when I was growing up. I grew up in the countryside, and she was one of the people in the local town that sort of spearheaded the gym culture down there. She’d do aerobic classes in the town hall. I wish I had photographs of it. My brother, sister, and I were dragged along because she could never get a babysitter for us. We’d be doing aerobics to Shania Twain and Sheryl Crow. It was a really sweet time to see her doing that, because we were very proud of her. She instilled in us less about working out as a way to stay in shape but as a way of life. As children, we were really encouraged to play sports, to go outside and play in the fields, and just to be active. When I started modeling early on in my career at 16, I still knew how important it was for me to be in the best shape I could be in at all times. So, going to the gym became part of my day-to-day life. My brother went to university and decided he wanted to get into fitness, so he got his personal training license. My brother, he loves to talk about diet and fitness and health. I live with a man who is very, very active and has a healthy lifestyle too. It’s something we’re constantly learning and talking about, and I’m just so lucky to be in an environment that breeds healthiness.

It’s so helpful when everyone around you is so healthy. For me, even going out with my friends, it’s like, let’s go to a SoulCycle class. We’re not hitting the clubs.

Exactly. It’s funny now, maybe on a Saturday I’ll take a couple of girlfriends and we’ll go and work out. We do these Body by Simone workout classes in L.A. and have a healthy lunch afterwards. But at the same time I love to go out with my girlfriends and have an Italian dinner with a great bowl of pasta and a pizza and a glass of wine. That is equally as important to me.

I love that you say that. Some celebrities seem to pretend that eating celery sticks is amazing. You have a balance. 

I want people to know that I work really hard for my body, but I also have fun and it’s an important thing. It’s important to indulge and relax and have fun. It really is. I think my number one advice is that everything starts with exercise, and diet comes after that. You put all those hard hours in at the gym and you don’t want to ruin it with bad food. But with that said, you also have to live. I’m constantly on the road, so I find it challenging to maintain a superstrict diet. I have an 80/20 rule when I am at home, which is eating very clean, lean, organic as much as possible. Then when I am traveling, I’m not going to beat myself up. If you want to go out to dinner, catch up with girlfriends, and have pudding and have a cocktail, those are a part of a healthy life too. You need to be healthy and happy and balanced.

You’ve been in so many great shoots. Do you have a moment of yours either in a shoot, a magazine, or a movie that was your favorite look of all time?

It’s really hard to narrow down your favorite when you are a blank canvas for people every day. It’s hard to narrow down and truly identify with because you’re always portraying a character, or feeding the machine, or you are becoming something for a brand. My favorites images are kind of where it’s a little more stripped back and raw. There’s one image that’s one of my favorites of all time. It was taken by Camilla Akrans about 18 months ago, and it was a really simple black-and-white portrait. It was kind of a natural moment at the end of the shoot, and my hair was slicked back, and she wanted to take my portrait for an industry magazine. Camilla is a friend of mine, and it kind of felt like a natural real moment with me, as opposed to being a character.
