above the whole ‘they’re brothers’ argument that sns-antis keep bringing up (their ‘proof/argument’ tiktoks are literally insufferable/don’t make sense), i also want to touch on the ‘they’re just friends, they would never’ thing as well.
now, it goes without saying that you definitely don’t have to agree to whether their love is platonic or romantic (but it is love, kick rocks about it), that’s your decision/perceptionㅡbut, personally as an sns-are-romantic believer, let me offer you this:
s: why do you go so far for me?
n: because you’re my friend.
s: but what does that mean to you?
n: *proceeds to tell sasuke what he explicitly feels for him*

naruto has a ton of friendships/bonds he’s created along the way, and while he can definitely resonate with their pain and loneliness because of his own journey, can you honestly say that he would say this to them? do this for them? to die with them as he would with sasuke?
in my opinion, no. above the obvious why, throughout the series, we continuously hear naruto repeat exclaims of the same thing: “there’s no way i’m dying here; i’m going to become hokage someday!” there was no room for dying at all before he came to his resolve with sasuke.
naruto’s willing to die with sasuke despite his dream; likewise to how sasuke was willing to die for naruto in the land of waves despite his own life ambitionㅡthis full circle from beginning to end of story, in my opinion, is on purpose.
antis claim that what naruto said here wasn’t a confession, but it quite literally isㅡno matter how you shake it up, he is literally telling sasuke what he feels for him, and by extension of what we know of naruto and his other bonds, it’s literally more than a friend for him.
