hi my name’s mikaela and this is my studyblr!! I’d originally intended for this blog to be about poetry, and I’ll probably still post some things like that, but just not as often.

here are some facts about me:

- i’m 14 and i’ve just finished my first year of high school

- i live in california

- next year i’m going to be taking english ii h, chemistry, world history ap, gospel stories, spanish iii h, and algebra ii h

- i’m a first robotics student

- i recently started golfing again and i want to start swimming again 

- i love music and i want to learn how to play the guitar (my current music favorites are bout you by vérité, idle town by conan gray, ivy by frank ocean, young by ruth b, and voice by standing egg)

- i really like photography, especially film 

- i love to read and my latest haul included, strange the dreamer, orbiting jupiter, milk and honey, the crown’s fate, and the highest mountain’s of portugal 

- i try to cook a new meal at least once a week

- my two favorite movies are dead poets society and the bourne identity (i’m also highkey obsessed with the fast and the furious movies let me live)

25.05.17 Missing my Study Space!

Won’t be back home until Centre for Eye Health rotations! Already been a few days, so I’m kind of missing my study space, but I’m loving the earlier finishes without having two hours of travel home! ^__^

to counter this, we’ve come up with a system where we ask: “do you want advice, empathy, both or neither?” 

if it’s just advice, i know to go straight to action points and not spend time on fluffy words 

if it’s just empathy, he knows i want to be reassured and comforted and that’s all

if it’s both, it’s time for advice that recognises how hard the situation is and is perhaps gentler in nature

if it’s neither, just a hug is really good
