i think it's definitely interesting, especially from kusuo's end. a lot of people i feel try to push them together as a sort of wish fulfilment thing for kusuo without taking into account the fact that kusuo's interest in satou is incredibly shallow and not really based at all on him as a person, just what he represents and how he thinks his life might improve if he befriends him. i think it's a really interesting part of kusuo's character and important to look at because once again it displays how he's still a teenage boy and it's not surprising for him to have a selfish interest in someone like that. the way he went about it is a whole other story, LMAO... but that doesn't really interfere with what i have to say here. honestly, i do think that if they were to become friends it probably wouldn't be the healthiest relationship. on satou's end, as he is normally satou seems to find kusuo weird, so i agree with your take that kusuo would probably have to change himself in a lot of ways to get along with him. and on kusuo's end, i don't think there'd be a real connection there, because as i said, his interest doesn't lie in who satou is as a person. i ended up writing a lot more than i expected to here! but yeah, i definitely find it to be an interesting dynamic and a good look into kusuo.
