Not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet but…

In the mission where Arthur fishes with Dutch and Hosea, Hosea says “Remember that big salmon I caught in Montana last year? We had a banquet planned that night until Copper went and scoffed down the lot.”

So Copper was alive rather recently. I feel like most people (including me) assumed he died years ago. So it got me thinking about some headcanons of Copper being around the gang in more recent times.

Copper sleeping next to baby Jack’s cradle and protecting him.

Copper loving Sean because they were both high energy (Arthur says in the mission that Copper “never lost the puppy in him, right to the end”).

Copper would howl when the gang sings loudly. He just wanted to join in on the singing.

Copper stole one of Mary-Beth’s books out of her hands and tore it to shreds. (Arthur was highly embarrassed and gave her money to replace it).

Hosea gave him Copper as a puppy soon after he lost Eliza and Isaac because Arthur is a caregiver and giving him something to take care of would keep him out of the bottle unlike Hosea when he lost Bessie.

The first time Charles and Arthur go out on a hunt together Charles insists they bring Copper because a dog can sniff out game and such. Arthur reluctantly agrees knowing Copper is not a hunting dog. Charles makes that same realization when Copper barks and plays with sticks the whole time they try to hunt. Needless to say they got no food and Charles never invited Copper again.
