Headcanon Tidbits

Siblings ; Ardyn had a young sister when he was in his teens; but she died. She was taken by a mere accident, his father never let it go. No brother.
Family ; no existing, living family. Ardyn’s mother and father were king&queen. He was a royal, later chosen by the crystal to be special.
Romance ; Ardyn was in love when he was a healer and then a thousand years later with a woman he got pregnant. The baby died and the woman went mad.Â
Children ; Ardyn cannot have children. Should he impregnate someone, the fetus will be deformed and die and the person will certainly go mad from the plague.Â
Death seeker ; he is a death seeker who is aware of his situation. He’s relented himself to his fate and clings to the hope of Noctis bringing him his final resting place.Â
Izunia ; When I began this blog, I headcanoned that Izunia was a chancellor amidst Ardyn’s father’s reign. When Ardyn left on his quest to heal the world, the chancellor ousted his parents from power. After taking their place and turning the city against Ardyn - he ran him out and crucified him. Ardyn took his name to scorn him.Â
Crucifixion / Past-Torture ; When Ardyn was ran from the old Insomnia; he was crucified and burned in the sun. His skin peeled away and his eyes practically melted from their sockets. He was a scorching heap of flesh - still leaving - slowly healing, but burning quicker. Ifrit rescued him, it took him years to replenish entirely enough to live as a man once more.
