We all know the core mission here at Time Transit is Storyline Canon first, then Historical Accuracy second, and maybe a distant third, Scientific Accuracy (mostly on days ending in 'y'). Well, now you can actually own an authenticated, verifiable, non-fungible piece of that beautiful, absurd structure.

Think of it as securing a digital deed to a canonical artifact—a visual footnote ripped right from the animated series pitch or the Core Rulebook itself.

On our Zora page, you can find and collect Non-Fungible Temporal Artifacts across three distinct categories:

1. Canonical Artwork: This is the certified Time Transit artwork—the character sheets, the high-concept environmental designs, the schematics for starships that definitely, definitely obey the laws of physics (mostly). Owning these means owning a piece of the official storyline.

2. Alternate Timeline Imagery: This is the Time Transit-inspired work. Pieces that were almost canon, strange design deviations, concept art, sketches or images as seen through my prehistoric eyes (AI-generated). It’s all highly interesting, and only slightly less historically accurate than a cave painting of a velociraptor wearing a tiny hat.

3. The Designer’s Personal Non-Continuity Archive: This is my personal art. My non-related, non-chronologically-contiguous, non-FUDGE-based visual weirdness. If you’ve ever wondered what my brain is doing when it’s not focused on the delicate balance of Dirk Bennet’s unemployment status and the collapse of the space-time continuum, now you’ll know. Prepare for confusion, followed by quiet contemplation, followed by a light chuckle.

I'm taking the ultimate DIY ethos of FUDGE and applying it to art ownership. Every piece collected helps us push the Time Transit animated series, RPG and CCG deeper into the realm of interesting and humorous reality.

How Do NFTs work?

NFTs work as unique digital certificates of ownership recorded on a blockchain, verifying authenticity and allowing for the purchase and sale of digital assets like art or music. Each NFT contains a unique identifier and other metadata, making it non-fungible (non-interchangeable). The blockchain provides a transparent and public ledger of all ownership transfers, ensuring the owner of the token can prove their ownership of the underlying digital or physical item.

What is a "Non-Fungible Token"?

Non-Fungible: Unlike fungible items like money or Bitcoin, where one unit can be swapped for another of equal value, non-fungible tokens are unique and cannot be interchanged with other tokens.

Token: It's a digital asset that represents something else, such as a piece of digital art, a video clip, or a collectible.

How Does an NFT Work?

Minting: An NFT is created, or "minted," when a unique identifier is added to a blockchain.

Blockchain Technology: NFTs are stored on a blockchain, which is a decentralized and transparent digital ledger. This ledger tracks ownership and transaction history publicly.

Unique Metadata: Each NFT contains specific data that differentiates it from all other tokens, including a unique ID and information about the digital asset it represents.

Digital Ownership: The owner of the NFT holds the token in their digital wallet, which serves as proof of ownership.

Trading and Selling: NFTs can be bought and sold on online marketplaces using cryptocurrencies or other digital assets. When an NFT is sold, its ownership is transferred to the new buyer via the blockchain.

What Can NFTs Represent?

NFTs can represent ownership of a wide variety of digital and physical items, including:

• Digital art and photography

• Videos and music files

• Virtual real estate

• Gaming assets

• Event tickets

Are the images & media that are traded on Zora platform actually NFTs?

Yes, the images and media traded and sold on the Zora platform are actually NFTs, or non-fungible tokens. However, the way they are implemented has evolved, with Zora moving toward a more social, coin-based model in addition to traditional NFT collections. 

How Zora media becomes an NFT

Unlike a standard social network, Zora is built as a decentralized protocol on the Ethereum blockchain via its own Layer-2 network. When a creator posts content, it is "minted" as a tokenized, on-chain asset, effectively turning it into an NFT. 

For traditional NFT collections, this minting creates the unique tokens that represent the digital art. But for social posts, Zora has innovated with a new system: 

"Content coins": Every post or piece of content is turned into an instantly tradable ERC-20 token, with a fixed supply, that can be bought and sold.

"Creator coins": Additionally, each user profile has a "creator coin" that is linked to the performance of their content coins. When a post becomes popular, the value of the creator's profile coin can increase. 

Benefits of Zora's on-chain model

Because all content on Zora is on-chain, it has several key differences from a traditional social network:

On-chain provenance: The entire history of the asset, from creation to all trades and sales, is permanently recorded on the blockchain.

Creator rewards: Zora's tokenomics ensure that creators automatically earn a portion of the trading fees whenever their content coins or NFTs are bought and sold on the secondary market.

No central control: The decentralized nature of the Zora protocol prevents censorship and empowers creators with full ownership of their work.

Low fees: By building its own Layer-2 network, Zora is able to offer very low transaction fees, making the minting and trading of media more accessible to a wider audience.
