#zoo date

We’ve been talking since early January (Jan 4th) and we were supposed to meet for drinks. But there was an ice storm so it got pushed off. I think I reached out again a week after once things warmed up. We made small talk and he asked if I still wanted to meet. I said yes bc I thought he was cute and why not. I hadn’t been on a date in a while and my last ones have been busts (I lowkey had a rebound era bc of my second brutal situationship that ended in June 2024 which is a whole other can of worms). Also it was a plus that he was cool abt me being agender. So that was nice :)

Basically we got there in separate cars but parking was a nightmare so it took a bit. I got into the zoo first and just wandered around and got a map. Then we actually met up. He looked the same as his pics THANK GOD (I went on a date w a guy once and the pics from his profile were from 3 years prior and he didn’t look like that anymore 😭). Idk plus this guy had like a kindness in his eyes.

We just went around and looked at all the different animals. We were exchanging stories and jokes and stuff it was super fun. He was SHOCKINGLY chill. Like not in a stoned way he just seemed very relaxed? Like he seemed excited to be there but in a chill way. Which was relieving for me bc I was a nervous wreck a bit. I had wanted to hold his hand a few times but I never asked bc I got too nervous. And we kept accidentally brushing hands. But when we had finished making a loop around the zoo and were heading to the gift shop to look he asked to hold my hand and I was like “sure!” And internally I was screaming like a goddamn banshee (bc I’m regrettably touch starved).

Anyways, we wandered around the gift shop looking at the plushies and holding them and exchanging animal facts. Which was delightful truly.

Then we left and since he parked far away I just offered to drive him to his car. Plus we agreed to late lunch early dinner so that worked out. We were still holding hands thru the parking lot ehehehehe. So yeah I got him to his car and we went for gyros (his pick bc I insisted he choose as I am notoriously indecisive with dinner). We just kept talking and whatnot. And then as we were leaving he asked if he could give me a hug and I was like “yeah 🥺” and then I was smiling like a fucking goofball and twirling my hair and I had like a skip in my step on the way to my car and back to the dorm.

@allocercreature and I went to the zoo as a date today! It was bright out so we took pics in the aquarium. My favorite creature was the gibbons who were hootin and hollerin the whoooooole time.
