He was less active in 2019 but we still got selfies, a few new music collaborations, 2 music videos and he even attended the premiere of
2. Aladdin premiere. Plus we got a couple of photoshoots. If anything he's became less visible in 2020/2021 even with an album out and his raps etc. I think people spent so much time upset because he wasn't doing typical promo stuff and got into the mindset of thinking of him as a recluse that we forget just how much content he put out before the last two years and just how much of a recluse he's really become in the last two years to fans to the point of even rarely showing his face.

We’ll see what happens. I’m convinced we’ve only seen Zayn on the street because of Gigi, and I’m also completely unprepared to unpack that observation lol. He’s continued to put out content, I would say, and obviously the album was a big part of that, but those 2019 selfies sometimes now seem intended for an audience of one, which was perhaps true of the last one as well, with the added benefit of watching a post garner 3-7M likes.
However you evaluate the content from 2018-2021, it’s been idiosyncratic and very much Zayn. I continue to be interested in him as an artist. I’ve been re-listening to my favorite songs on IF and NIL, and I’m again impressed by how well he controls his voice and how much his desi roots flavor much of his work. He’s a great singer, and I hope he has more material that shows off his voice.
You also have to place the Better mv in the content from 2020-21. What a visual feast that was.

"Right? It’s going to be 2019 all over again" We got a lot more content in 2019 than we got from Gigi 2020/2021. At least in 2019 we got actual selfies and not just the occasional. Maybe he'll go back to showing his actual face in his photos.

So fair enough.
