Hello! I could use a little information, if you don't mind. Okay, so I'm a polymorph, and I've read about other polymorphs learning to control their species-changes, but I haven't been able to find anything anywhere about how to learn to control it. If you know how, or know of any resources on how to master the species changes, I would really appreciate any help you can manage. Thank you!
None of the mods are polymorphs, so we can’t really answer that personally, I’m afraid. Did you try asking the people that wrote about being able to control their shifts? I looked around on some forums and asked some people but couldn’t find any guides or posts about the matter. I suggest either asking around or making a thread on kinmunity (there are plenty polymorphs there) or another otherkin forum.Â

I'm a polymorph and I'd like to read your analysis on some of the shifts I have pretty often! ^_^ *Deep-sea Angler Fish Mermaid, *Bean Sidhe, *Industrial-era scrap-metal-eating robot/machine with a cast iron skull-like face, *Red Fox, and *Ghost. The kin matchups are for when I try to guess who you could be kin with, but I do the thing you described too! I call them “kin commonality analyses”; I don’t really know what else to call them. But I digress.
From what I can tell…
4/5 are commonly thought of with negative connotations/associations (Foxes are associated with trickery and deceit in folklore, Bean Sidhe and ghosts are spirits which are associated with hauntings and the dead, angler fish are commonly seen as scary and mermaids are seen as wicked in some legends)
2/5 are undead (Ghost, Bean Sidhe) (skulls are also associated with the undead, but that’s more of a loose connection)
4/5 are not theriotypes/not regular animals (Ghost, Bean Sidhe, Angler Fish Mermaid, Industrial Robot)
I’m sorry that this short - most of these were pretty different, and I don’t have the context to know what shifts as a ghost, angler fish mermaid, and industrial robot are like for you.
