I might do some digital ink on this in the Inktober season, but just in case it does not happen, here is the pencil render. I wanted this to have some movement but remaining weighted, in a sense showing a zhuard’s surety. It gives me a sense of longing. 

It's been a little bit of a rough week or two, but I'm gritting my teeth and trudging through it. I wanted to post this for the first day of fall, but I'm not too far off, so here we are. This first model of Allen I am probably going to keep unpainted, as I find a lot of charm with her like this, and I have other plans with models not yet made. So she is the first. As I slowly but surely move on to some 3D models, I wanted to make another collage of this one here. I've had this idea for candlelight and harsh shadows for a few months now- and finally being able to post, since there's some small downtime in art. Even though this is a 'Version 1', as I'd like to do candlelight with the 3D ones at some point, this model of Allen will hold a special place for me! . . Sculpture (c)Thebridgebeyond/SNW

So this has been something I've wanted to do for a few years now, and as my first time sculpting. I worked within the confines of the original model, so proportions are a bit off for a zhuard but this regardless is definitely a zhu! More specifically Allendria, and I worked with the hiccups along the way to define more of her nightmire lineage (neck, compactness, etc). I'm proud that I got the sculpt pretty recognizable, and I wanted to keep her unpainted all winter for two reasons: To let the greyness of the sculpture contrast against the snowfall, and to take as many shots as possible of this state (once she's painted, I'll never see her like this again of course). Like a sketch to a full drawing, I always like to keep a demonstration of the initial work- in this case the resculpt. The two part epoxy was wonderful to work with!...note to self--don't start a piece you don't intend to finish the same day since it'll be dry and unmovable..(ack her neck position!) Cresty zhu has a stallion-esque cresty neck, how fitting for Allen haha. Spring/summer photos might be interesting as I really really love how I did her paws, but not visible for the winter shoot! I'll also have to paint her. She might be so dark burgundy that she might make a really nice silhouette against a sunset!
