I mean, who even are the guys in inquisition?? besides honorary bff varric

there's moustache boy and approx 2 people would want to kiss that so he's going to get no LI attention

there's the handsome elf in the background of that stab-the-table pic but so far he's nondescript and unexpanded upon

there's the kossith dude and fair enough I can get behind that but he too isn't exactly standing out yet and is still nameless

then there's cullen hahahaha

the male inquisitor they've shown is boring as a fucking beige wall - I'm sure people making male inquisitors will make great ones and like I play as a guy about 60% of the time myself bc personal trans* shit, but for my prime run of this game lmao not a chance buddy

whereas

the most notable returning characters (bc they were absent last game, unlike varric and cullen) are both women - morrigan and leliana - and morrigan's looking to have a big role, probably as the narrator

which is wonderful bc aside from morrigan being one of my favourite chars in anything ever she absolutely steals the show, she's super memorable and she's so sort of, dark and hostile and snidely funny but still a protag? and I think that's awesome because it's a role usually taken by some angsty boy, having a woman in it diversifies the female cast

also the fact that she was such a fabulous misandrist who the game (and its male players) reALLY wanted to call a b*tch makes it even better

(this game is really reigniting my old morrigan x leliana otp btw)

then the female companions

ugh I'm so into them

there's sera the elf (telling the joke in that tavern pic) who looks like she's going to be the group clown which again is usually given to men so I'm chuffed (also elves<33)

then there's vivienne and wow

she's iirc orlesian which means she'll be the player's closest experience of orlais (and probably the main target of the many jokes) which auto gives her character and notability

she's also a first enchanter, which

1. means she'll have massive relevance to the mage/templar conflict and by extension the general setting and plot

2. makes her your go-to mage of the party and probably the MVP of a lot of teams with a warrior/rogue inquisitor

3. is hardcore as fuck, she's the best of the best, the most powerful/skilled, etc

she has a really interesting conflict going on with the ultimate pro-circle stance vs current events thing that I think can pan out well and give her a great arc

on a personal note she's totally gorgeous and tALL and that sashay oh yes

this bit isn't for me obviously but also bc she's a dark-skinned Black woman it adds a racial representation element to all of the above and a lot of people I follow are over the moon right now and it's making me incredibly happy to see, I'm so fucking happy people are finding characters to connect with

which, for me, leads me onto

I'm masculine side of androgynous and so far marian hawke had been the closest to anything like that w/ literally just her hair

and I think marian was cool in that she had short hair but was still very much feminine, which is good rep, but just wasn't similar to me?

I love femme women to pieces but not all women are femme and elegant and girlishly pretty and so we just don't get included bc ppl don't think that's attractive on a woman

there was aveline too who I lOVE bc of it, but part of her identity was disliking being seen as so masculine and actually being quite feminine and having nobody appreciate it, which is completely realistic and important but again wasn't me (I still feel a deep connection w/ her though, love u avvy)

but cassandra's looking like a butch woman who dgaf and I'm so thrilled

with her short hair and her massive hulky armor walking around in the rain with no cover bc she's hench and ~practical and she can deal w/ whatever the weather wants to do and she's probs got a massive knight-in-shining-armor complex and gOD

if anything they seem to have made her even more heavyset and amab featured w/ less makeup since da2

she even sounds like she's got a lisp and I have a speech impediment too (can't say 'th') it's like this was a fated representation

I hope she's bi or gay more than anything else I hope for for this game
