Like the first night Wise met Lighter, he frantically knocked on his door with his heart thumping against his chest. He wondered how Eous was still sleeping when he mustâve been able to hear how frantic both his heartbeat and knocking was. The small boy slept with his head resting against his shoulder. He placed a hand on Eousâs dark hair and thought of how small he was in his arms.
In the time since they moved to their new home, the child had grown a lot. Yet, he was still small enough for him to carry him. How much longer could he hold him like this? The question was far more than a parentâs musing on their childâs growth. Wise wasnât able to let the dread linger for long before the door opened. His nerves settled at the same time as his heart leapt in his chest. Lighterâs broad shoulders filled the doorway in front of him. The soft smile Lighter gave Wise was like a flickering flame at dusk.
âItâs past Eousâs curfew. Are you here for a sleepover? If I knewâ Whatâs wrong?â Lighter straightened once he saw how pale Wise was. A wave of protectiveness seized him and he gently ushered the pair into his home. He closed the door behind them but it was Wise who rushed to lock the door. His behaviour was strange and Lighter could only think of one thing that could make him so panicked. Gently, Lighter brushed his fingers over Eousâs cheek. He didnât appear hurt or sick.
âBe careful not to wake Eous.â Wise whispered. He leaned back against the door, needing something solid behind him. He couldnât use his hands to catch himself or keep himself from sinking while he was still holding Eous in his arms. Thankfully, Lighter placed a steadying hand on his waist. He looked into his deep green eyes and took a deep breath. âIâm sorry to come so late at night, Lighter, but I really need your help.â
âItâs not the first time that you woke me up in the middle of the night. As I said last time: itâs better to wake up to a pretty face like yours over my phone alarm.â He tried to lighten the atmosphere.
Wise managed a small giggle at the teasing. Unfortunately, it faltered when he looked down at Eous. âCan Eous sleep over here tonight? Professor Sunbringer and Professor Joyous are paying me a visit on behalf of Helios Academy. I donât want Eous to be there for their inspection.â
âWouldnât it make more sense for them to visit during the day?â
âHelios Academy works on their own schedule.â The words were laced with sarcasm and resentment. âThey want to evaluate whether Iâm taking good care of Eous. Even though they agreed to let me adopt him after Professor Arna died, Helios wanted us to live on campus. I convinced them that a normal environment would be better for a child. This was supposed to be a surprise evaluation. Luckily, Vivian learned about it and called to warn me.â
Lighter never questioned why the family lived in Helios Academy while Arna was alive. It seemed logical because she was a professor and they would provide her living accommodations. Now, he wondered why they were still closely tied to the school even after her death. What reason did the academy have to plan a surprise inspection? While Wise never fully explained his situation or time with Helios Academy, Lighter was certain of one thing: Wise loved Eous and would protect his son.
He had seen Wise angry and upset but this was the first time he appeared terrified. He placed his hand on top of Wiseâs that was still holding Eous. Gently, he squeezed his fingers. âI wonât let anything happen to you or Eous. If those two are here for an inspection, I can put in a good word for you. Itâs the least I can do since you also defended me against Stephâs grandpa.â
âI wasnât doing anything special. He was wrong about you. Youâre great with kids.â With that trust, Wise gently placed his son in Lighterâs arms. They were both careful not to wake the boy as he settled in place against his chest. âI canât thank you enough for this, Lighter. Sunbringer and Joyous will insist on interviewing Eous. I plan to tell them that heâs at a sleepover across town and reschedule it for another time. That will give me a chance to prepare Eous to see them again.â
âAfter the interview, do you want to sleep over? Eous might wake up while you try to carry him back to your place. Heâll definitely cry if he wakes up and his dad isnât there.â
âI would love to.â Wise said but his expression told Lighter that he couldnât. Regretfully, he shook his head. âMy professors will become suspicious if they see me sneak over to my neighbourâs place in the middle of the night. Itâs better to stay cautious. Iâll pick up Eous in the morning. In case he does wake up early, tell him that I just went home to get his toothbrush or something.â
âSounds like a plan. Text me if anything changes or whether you just need me.â The quick acceptance surprised Wise. He thought that Lighter would have more questions about his sudden visit. Most people would. The trust and understanding helped Wise feel like he wasnât facing the situation on his own.
Wise knew that he shouldnât risk waking Eous but he couldnât stop himself from pressing a light kiss to his temple. The child roused slightly but he quickly went back to sleep. Between Lighterâs bodyheat and strong arms, Wise could see why Eous was comfortable enough to stay fast asleep. If only he could rest his head there as well.
He stood on his toes and wrapped his arms around both Lighter and Eous. âThank you, Lighter.â
Lighter sat next to the window and looked through the glass to Wiseâs driveway. He couldnât help being worried after Wise came to his door, pale and uneasy. The only thing that kept him from going to his house was Eous sleeping on the bed behind him. He decided to watch for when they left and then call Wise. While he said that he should stay home, a short phone call shouldnât be dangerous. That thought led to the question of why Wise was so wary and guarded with Heliosâs visit.
He saw two tall adults walk up the driveway to his house. Distance and shadows made it impossible for him to see the detail of their face. Since it was clear Wise didnât want the evaluators to see Eous, Lighter kept the lights off to not draw attention to himself. His need to protect the two and Calydonâs training made him more alert than he usually was in their quiet neighbourhood.
He watched for them to reappear again and he could call Wise. As much as he wanted to walk across the yard and be by his side, Lighter stopped himself. Wise would prefer for him to remain with Eous and protect his son. He glanced at the small child sleeping behind him and he couldnât deny the wave of protectiveness that overtook him. The harsh words of Stephanieâs grandparents echoed in his mind. You arenât fit to be a father.Â
The blankets rustled as Eous woke. His tiny fist slapped the pillow a few times before he tried to settle himself back to sleep. The room was completely quiet so Lighter knew that it was the unfamiliar bed that woke him. The boy was more sensitive to changes in his environment compared to other children. He would only be able to sleep in a new bed if someone was next to him, their warmth giving a sense of familiarity and safety.
Careful not to make a sound, he left the window. The mattress dipped slightly as he sat on the edge. He hadnât meant to wake Eous but that appeared to have been inevitable. His eyes blinked open and he made a muffled protest into the pillow. Lighter softly stroked his hair to ease him back to sleep. Beneath his hand, he could feel Eous stiffen as he sat up and searched the darkness.
âWhere?â Eous asked in a small voice. Any further questions became sharp breaths. He struggled to see through the darkness to recognize where he was.
âYouâre at my place, Kid.â Lighter spoke softly so he wouldnât scare him further. He stretched towards his nightstand and turned on his phone light for Eous to see him. âWise was going to surprise you with breakfast at my place. Heâs getting your toothbrush right now. You should go back to sleep or else Wise will be sad the surprise was ruined.â
âWill I get Starlight Knight pancakes?â He hummed happily. Eous pushed aside the blanket and crawled onto Lighterâs lap. He closed his eyes and promptly fell asleep against him. There was an unconditional trust in his young eyes that made Lighter want to protect him and Wise. He almost felt guilty for lying to him even though it was meant to protect him.
Lighter turned off his phone and the room once again became dark. He looked at the bed and considered tucking Eous back under the blankets. Then, he recalled Wiseâs frantic worry from when they first met. He understood the parental instinct behind that expression. He continued to hold Eous as he walked back to the chair and watched for Wise out the window.
âThis is an unexpected surprise, Professors. What brings you two to Sixth Street?â Wise said as he led his two seniors into his home. He feigned enough surprise to pretend that he hadnât known about their visit. Then, he forced a calm smile to hide how nervous he felt. He couldnât give them a reason to think that he wasnât confident in his role as Eousâs father. He kept his tone light and casual. âWould you two like some tea? Itâs a little late for coffee but a good host should offer drinks. Arna taught me that.â
âWhereâs Eous? Is he sleeping upstairs?â Joyous asked. As wary as Wise was, he appreciated the manâs direct and blunt nature. They didnât need to dance around the issue and the interrogation could be completed sooner. Wise nodded and gestured for the pair to sit in the living room with him. They ignored him and walked deeper into the house.
He watched how they examined the pictures he had hung on the wall as they walked down the hall. He didnât know what they were searching for and that made their scrutiny feel all the more oppressive. Wise told himself that he didnât need to be scared or paranoid of Helios trampling his family. They moved to a safe neighbourhood and his stable income provided a good life for them.
âEous isnât home. He is sleeping at a friendâs house.â His words finally stopped them. When they turned towards him, Wise kept his back straight and rigid. From experience, flinching away from their gaze would only make them more suspicious of him. âIf you told me about your visit, I couldâve changed the day of his sleepover. Youâll have to interview him another day. Until then, do you want tea?â
They nodded. As they walked back to the living room, Wise picked out a folder from his office. He handed the collection of Eousâs report cards and medical files to them. The folder was enough to distract them while he went through the motion of making tea.
âThe teachers said that Eous can be shy around the students. But he recently made a lot of friends so I encouraged him to go to a sleepover. Spending time with kids his age is good for him. Heâs coming out of his shell and more willing to try new things. He loves riding his motorcycle to the park with the triplets.â Wise told them. âHeâs happy here.â
The words were to reassure himself as much as there were for Sunbringer and Joyous. From the start, he was uncertain whether he was the best person to adopt Eous. He didnât have parents and he lost the only mother figure in his life. Could he give a child the love and attention that they deserved? He closed his eyes and remembered watching the fireworks with Lighter and Eous. In spite of his own doubts, he would continue forward.
âHis academic performance wasnât what prompted this visit.â Joyous closed the folder and slid it back across the table to Wise. âA child is a large responsibility and we wanted to ensure that youâre up for the task. Before Arnaâs death, you were Eousâs older brother. Thatâs very different from being a parent. Itâs a large responsibility and you need to put Eous before yourself.â
âEous is my son.â He said resolutely. âI love him and Iâd do anything for him. I understand that Helios has their own concern but mine is his happiness. For Arnaâs gifted program, letâs give Eous more time. I donât think heâll react well to being thrown into that fast paced environment. It was difficult enough for me and Belle when we had each other and Arna.â
âWe already told you that this visit isnât related to his education. We heard that you lost Eous at a party.â
âI⌠That was an oversight on my part since I thought he was asleep. We found him quickly though!â Wise almost defended himself by stating that he left Eous in the care of a babysitter. He stopped himself. He didnât want to shift Heliosâs attention to Victoria Household who were housing his sister. âI explained to Eous that he cannot run off like that again.â
âWise,â Sunbringer spoke for the first time that night. Throughout the interview, she had been searching through the artwork that Eous had made. Her voice was kind and motherly. He hadnât heard that tone since Arna died. âI have children of my own. I understand how you feel. But wanting to be a parent doesnât mean that youâre ready.â
Wise took an uneven breath and confessed: âI didnât know whether I was ready at the time. But I canât give Eous up to anyone. He needs me and breaking his trust will hurt him. Also, Iâm not raising him alone and he has so many people who love him here. You canât take him. I wonât allow it.â
Despite his own insistence that he shouldnât go to Lighterâs house, Wise found himself in front of his back gate. He was wary of Helios Academy suspecting that Lighter was watching Eous if he went to his neighbour immediately. That would draw both Lighter and Eous into an interrogation masked as an interview. Wise grew up in Helios Academy so he was accustomed to their games.
He stretched over the door so he could open the latch and slipped into his backyard. He only took a few steps past the corner before he had to pause. Sitting on the back porch was Lighter. The sound of the rocks beneath his feet made Lighter look up and their gaze met through the darkness. How long had he been sitting there? Had he been waiting for him?
Lighter gave him a reassuring smile and then patted the spot next to him. âWeâve spent enough time with each other for me to know that youâll come eventually. Youâre the type to worry and need to come to check. Looks like I was right. Donât worry, Eousâs fast asleep and he wonât wander downstairs to look for us. I told him that weâre surprising him with Starlight Knight pancakes in the morning.â
He expected Wise to sit next to him as he often did. Instead, he collapsed onto his lap. He buried his face into Lighterâs neck and his expression became hidden in his red scarf. Lighter always thought that Wise was strong for raising a child by himself. His body was now stiff in his arms and he wondered how stressful the interview was for him. He wrapped his arms around Wise and stroked his hair.
âThank you.â Wiseâs warm breath brushed over his neck as he spoke. He tucked his head beneath his chin. âNot just for today. Thank you for everything that youâve done for me and Eous. I donât know how I wouldâve been able to get through that evaluation without you. I wouldâve been distracted worrying about Eous but I knew he was safe with you.â
âYou shouldnât thank me. I havenât been entirely honest with you.â The confession was barely a whisper. Lighter felt Wise pull away from him more than he saw him do so. He couldnât bring himself to look into his eyes. âWhile I was watching over Eous, I thought over your situation. Helios wouldnât want someone like me taking care of your kid.â
âWhy?â Wise asked cautiously.
Lighter lowered his lips to his ear and whispered: âI work for the Sons of Calydon. Itâs a security agency and Caesar has been trying to turn it around since she inherited it from her father. Things were pretty complicated back then and some people still hold a grudge against her family. I donât want those people to hurt you and Eous. Helios will use that against you and take Eous.â
âWhen you said that the Sons of Calydon have enemies, do you mean that man from yesterday? You protected Eous from him. Thatâs why I trust you. Eous is my son, not Heliosâs. I will choose who can be a part of our family.â
Afraid that Lighter would pull away, Wise gripped his shirt. He shifted on his lap only so he could straddle his legs and cup his face. He looked into his green eyes and an unquestionable heat bubbled in his chest. The next words came surprisingly easy after months of trying to restrain them. âYou told Lucius âdonât touch my kidâ. Do you see Eous as your son? Eous certainly considers you his family. If you want, he can be our son.â
He leaned towards him as he made the suggestion. They were close enough that all he could see were his green eyes. Lighterâs answer was wordless. He placed his hand on the back of Wiseâs neck and pulled him closer. He brushed his lips over his, gentle and soft. Just the sensation of holding Wise in his arms made Lighter question why he didnât kiss him sooner.
His large hands cradled his face and gently coaxed him to tilt his head back. He deepened the kiss, parting his lips with his tongue. Wise gasped but the surprise only lasted a moment before he was lost to the haze of need. He returned the kiss, his lips moving over his and fitting in place. The way Lighter whispered his name, deep and raspy, made him shiver.
When he broke the kiss, they were both out of breath. Lighter looked down at his flushed face and stroked his thumb over his soft skin. He stared at him as though he wanted to memorize every aspect of him despite the darkness cloaking both of them. âAnswering the door for you was the best decision of my life.â
Wise collapsed onto the mattress next to Eous. Luckily, Eous was a heavy sleeper so he didnât wake him. Watching him sleep, he thought of the family he lost. The stress of Heliosâs visit made those memories far more vivid and uneasy. He pulled his son closer and kissed his forehead. Usually, seeing Eous smile peacefully was enough to distract him from his heavy thoughts but they lingered due to Helios.
The bed shifted and Wise worried that Eous had woken. When he began to sit up, a large hand gently eased him back onto the bed. Lighter on the edge of the mattress and pulled the blanket over his small family. Wise let out a deep breath and he could finally close his eyes. It wasnât the bed or blanket that made him feel warm and safe. He blindly lifted his hand and reached out to Lighter.
âStay?â
âAs long as you need.â Wise couldnât be more grateful for the answer. All the anxiety and doubts that Helios brought back disappeared with Lighter. He closed his eyes and imagined a future that they could build with the three of them.

Leaps and Boundsâ headquarters was different from what Wise had expected from a delivery service. It wasnât the appearance of the old brick building but instead the loud chatter and metal ringing that emitted from it. Caesar had given him the address and told him to visit whenever they were free. He hesitated to accept her offer because he didnât want to interrupt their work. Lighter told him that he was always driving from one delivery to the next so Wise doubted they would be able to see each other for long.
Wise glanced down at Eous sitting in his wagon. Leaps and Bounds was a 20 minute walk so he decided to enjoy the fresh air with Eous instead of taking the car. The young child was brimming with nervous energy as he bounced in his seat. He was certain that Eous wouldâve tried to climb out if he wasnât holding a treasured package in his hands. It would be difficult for him to climb out without setting the box down and he made it clear that he needed to keep it safe for Lighter.
He lifted him out of the wagon and set him in front of the entrance. With one hand, he pushed the door open and Eous immediately slipped through once the gap was large enough. He kept him in the corner of his eyes as he struggled to pull the wagon inside with his free hand. His son wasnât the type to run off but the possibility worried him after the New Years party.
âWelcome!â Burniceâs cheery voice greeted them. She stood at the counter with Lighter and the two immediately went to help him with the wagon. Lighter took a moment to pat Eousâs head before he walked to Wiseâs side. He placed his hand on the small of his back and then reached around him to grab the wagon. A warm shiver ran through Wise from where he touched him. He tried to suppress the reaction by telling himself that Lighter only held him for balance while helping him.
Still, he couldnât help but notice how his hand lingered on his back even after they pulled the wagon into the store. No matter how many times he told himself that it would be selfish to enter a relationship, he couldnât stop the growing feelings within him. He felt a little disappointed when Lighter let him go.
âWhat brings you to Leaps and Bounds?â Burnice asked. âNeed something delivered?â
âLunch for Lighter!â Eous declared and held the lunchbox over his head. Lighter wasnât surprised because Wise had texted him to ask if he was free to share lunch together. He asked Burnice to cover his shift and she readily agreed. He knelt in front of Eous to take the gift from him. Rather than hand him the box, the small boy launched himself into his arms expecting to be carried.
âBeing the one to get a delivery is a nice change.â When Lighter lifted Eous, Burnice couldnât help but notice how he held him. She had never seen him so careful with something in his arms. Then, he held out his hand to Wise. âYou wanna eat outside? You can keep the wagon here. We donât have to worry about someone taking it with Burnice guarding it.â
âI wanna see Calydonâs gym!â Wise was interrupted before he could answer. Eousâs request confused him because a delivery service wouldnât have a gym. âMoccus told me about it. His momâs place has a gym in the back and they even have a ring where they can practise fighting. Lighter looks cool in all the pictures Steph has of him boxing. But I never got to see him fight.â
âMoccus was probably talking about the gym at Caesarâs house.â Wise reasoned. He stood next to Lighter and tapped the box. âEous, we came to give Lighter the special lunch that you made him. We canât take too much of his time by going to the gym. He has work.â
The disappointment on his face tugged at Wiseâs heart. He lightly kissed his forehead to comfort the small boy. Throughout the walk, he had been excited to visit Lighterâs workplace. He had tried to temper his expectation by telling him that they could only stay for a short lunch. It was clear that Eous still hoped to spend more time with Lighter and see the gym.
âWe have a workout place in the back but no one uses it. Itâs just leftover from the buildingâs old Calydon days before they converted the place for Leaps and Bounds. The back canât be called a professional gym. Iâll give you a quick tour if your dad agrees but no actual fighting or training. Youâre still too small for that, Kid,â Lighter offered. The boy immediately brightened like he expected.
Eous turned to Wise with large, green eyes. His eyes were surprisingly similar to Lighterâs who now appeared guilty for shifting the question to him. He didnât know how someone could say no to him when they were both staring at him. âOkay, but you canât play with any of the equipment. A gym is different from a playground, Eous.â
The backroom was larger than Wise imagined it would be. In the center of the room was a small boxing ring. Equipment for training was organized against the back wall. Lighter told him that the building used to be for the Sons of Calydon and he became more curious about their work. He hadnât seen a reason to question Caesarâs different businesses when Lighter told him he only worked in deliveries and logistics in Leaps and Bounds.
âThereâs not much to see with our âgymâ. I hope that Moccus didnât raise your expectations too much.â Lighter said but he could see curiosity shining in Eousâs eyes. He held onto his hand to keep him from running to the weights. They kept the equipment secured but he was wary of Eous hurting himself if he tried to play in the gym. âLetâs go eat in the break room. Thatâs more interesting.â
âCan we eat in the ring? Itâs a big picnic table!â Eous pointed to the raised platform. When Lighter and Wise turned to each other, they both read each otherâs thoughts. He nodded and carried him to the ring. Eous was easily able to crawl under the rope and he immediately darted to the center. The boxing ring was an empty square so Lighter didnât know why Eous found it fascinating. The innocent outlook of a child was endearing though.
Lighter hadnât entered the ring in years. He pushed those memories from his mind and focused on Wise standing next to him. He held out his hand to help him into the ring. As he laid his fingers into his larger hand, he whispered to him. âI was going to say that we canât spoil Eous so much or else he will start to think heâll always get his way but weâre both guilty of that.â
âOne lunch wonât hurt. Anyways, this is my break so Lucy canât yell at me.â Lighter easily followed him into the ring, his movement fluid and practised. He went to the center where Wise was already setting out the tupperware.
When he sat down, Eous immediately placed a lunchbox on his lap. He lifted the lid and found an assortment of sandwiches and snacks. The sandwiches were clumsily made with uneven cuts and peanut butter smeared on the side. In contrast, the fruit had been cut into playful shapes. He could guess who made which part of the lunch from a glance.
âI made lunch all by myself! Wise was teaching me. Ehn na⌠wanted to share with Lighter.â Eous told him, his voice suddenly shy. He took a sandwich and held it out to Lighter. His small fingers trembled around the bread. Lighter leaned down to take a bite and then made an exaggerated hum. The simple acknowledgement erased the worry from him and he grinned. He handed a second sandwich to Wise.
They shared the simple lunch. A few sandwiches and fruit from a childâs lunchbox werenât enough to fill their stomachs but Lighter acted like Eous had made him a feast. Wise watched them with a smile. Eous would hand him more food without noticing the crumbs gathering on Lighterâs pants. They truly appeared to be a family.
Wise took a napkin from his bag and lightly wiped the corner of Lighterâs lips, catching the stray breadcrumbs there. As he did so, Lighter turned his head and his lips brushed over his fingertips. He knew that the touch was unintentional and innocent but his heart quickened nevertheless. Heat crept up his cheeks and he turned away from Lighter.
A loud thud and raised voices broke through the moment. He couldnât make out what they said with the wall muffling the voices but the anger was apparent enough. Wise instinctively pulled Eous closer to his side and looked to Lighter. His expression was tight but not panicked.
âSounds like an annoying customer. Youâd be surprised with the scene that people will make over a lost package. Iâll check on Burnice so you can stay here with Eous.â They both knew that Burnice was strong enough to handle an angry customer but Wise knew that Lighter would still worry. He wouldâve intervened as well if he didnât have Eous.
As Lighter walked back to the store, Wise caught a glimpse of someone through the gap in the door. A blond man was arguing with Burnice. The stranger faltered when Lighter approached him. It was clear that he was intimidated by him and Wise hoped that was enough to de-escalate the situation. He trusted that Lighter could handle the customer so he turned to Eous, worried that the yelling had scared him.
Unexpectedly, Eous dashed forward. Wise was too surprised to react quickly enough to stop him. He tried to catch him but the small child easily slipped under the rope and jumped to the ground. He yelled his name and for him to stop. Eous had already reached the door by the time Wise was able to climb out of the ring.
Eous burst into the store, drawing everyoneâs attention to him. He pointed his finger at the blond man and yelled: âYour jacket says Vanquisher. Moccus says youâre bullies. Leave my friends alone or else Iâll call ZhuYuan!â
âSnot nosed brat.â The man glared at him. The courage and determination that Eous had was replaced by fear. He stood paralyzed as Lucius stepped towards him. Lighter and Burnice immediately moved to stop him. Wise reached Eous first. He pulled him back and hid him against his chest. He didnât know whether the man would hurt a child but he moved on instinct to protect his son.
A loud crash echoed throughout the store. Wise reluctantly looked up from Eous and found that Lighter had pinned Lucius to the ground. Lighter didnât raise his voice but there was a restrained anger. âDonât touch my kid. What kind of coward goes after a four year old? Whatever TOPS has planned to buy us out, the answer is the same. Iâll make sure of that after this. Go and tell them that.â
Lighter pulled him to his feet and then pushed him towards the door. He watched him leave only to ensure that he wouldnât try to attack Wise or Eous. Once the front door closed behind him, he sighed and turned back to them. Cold regret ran through him when he saw Eous shivering against him. He wanted to reach out and comfort him but something stopped Lighter.
âShit.â Lighter muttered the curse beneath his breath. With how protective Wise was, Lighter assumed that he wouldnât want him in their lives anymore. He couldnât blame him if that was his decision. He knelt next to them but he didnât move closer. âSorry, I probably scared you more than that guy did.â
He looked up from the safety of his fatherâs hug. Wise stroked his hair a few times before he let him go. Eous searched the room for something until his eyes fell onto Lighter. He immediately jumped into his arms like he had earlier that day. Relieved that he wasnât scared of him, he caught the boy and lifted him against his shoulder.
Eous beamed up at him. âYou scared the bad guy away like Starlight Knight! I want to be brave like Lighter. Will you teach me how to fight? I can protect Wise and Belle.â
âHey, didnât I say that youâre too small to be fighting?â Lighter gently stopped his rambling. âYouâre still a kid so you should tell an adult when thereâs a bully like that guy. Donât try to run to fight him like that again. Fighting is bad. You shouldnât be like me.â
âWhy? You stopped that man to protect us.â Wise shifted closer to him and wrapped his arms around both Lighter and Eous. âThank you.â
