Lake koroks! Had fun with the dappled sunlight when photographing this painting.

And now that I'm back from the lake myself, it's time for the last chapter of my @zelinkcommunity Zelink Week 2026 fic!
Zelda could feel herself relaxing around her father for the first time in years as they discussed trade goods to offer the Rito in exchange for the timber needed to rebuild the damaged parts of Castle Town, or what they could offer the Gorons for ore.
But then he gestured at a more formal looking document. “The council would like to know when you plan to announce your betrothal.”
“My WHAT?”
Her father gave her a stern look. “I know about your pregnancy.”

Thank you so much for the many of you who commented this ridiculous, unoriginal trope-fest of a zelink week story. I'm so glad so many people enjoyed the silliness as much as I hoped you would. It's been a delight to share it all with you, and I'm very excited to now have time to experience all the amazing things everyone else made. I'm so glad you're part of a fandom with me. (And maybe one day, someone will actually pay the licensing fee for this work and we'll use the proceeds to go to a lake and create fanworks together.)

@fluffyjuly Day 3: Cuddling
@fandombingo (The Blooming Hour): You Bloom When They Look At You
Zelda can feel vines touch her cheek before Link’s fingertips do. They intertwine with hers, leaves touching leaves as Link gets closer and closer, petals opening as they would for the sun. He kisses her nose, and she’s greeted to the sweet smell of roses and tulips, soft on her skin.
When she opens her eyes, it’s to the sight of a full bouquet of flowers, made specifically for her. This is an unexpected side effect of the triforce she will never tire of. She reaches for a rose and watches as it blooms in her hands.
Day 3: A Quiet Moment (Spirit Tracks Zelink)
Zelda feared she would forget the sensations of being alive. That she’d forget the coolness of the breeze, the heat of the sun’s kiss, the softness of her dress, and the sound of a train’s whistle in the distance.
Despite her best ability, there were a few things that did slip from her memory. Such as how heavy a hand feels intertwined with hers, or how blinding the sunrise is with streaks of orange and purples. But it's so beautiful, she can’t bring herself to look away.
When she cries, Link squeezes her hand, grounding in its warmth.
Day 4: Again (Skyward Sword Zelink)
@fluffyjuly Day 2: “You kept this?” + Day 6 “Just one more time”
“You kept this?” Zelda asks as she sits next to Link, leaning onto the tree trunk as the grass cushions the ground. The sunlight sprinkles between the branches, the leaves thick enough to provide cooling shade.
The strums of the harp play on, Link’s fingers plucking a tune that Zelda vaguely recognizes. Not from her own memory, but from Before. It sounds beautiful.
Link doesn’t answer her, but she knows. She knows because he keeps playing, fingers never stuttering even when she leans into his side.
“Can you play again?” She asks when he pauses. “Just one more time?”
Day 7: Home at Last (BOTW Zelink)
Home was something Zelda never had the privilege of knowing. Not when her father was always disappointed in her, and her study was the only place she could hide away in. Home was a place she grew to resent, learned to be silent and complicit, tense and frustrated because she was never good enough.
But then Link sits beside her, scarred but familiar in heart, and says they can find home together. With flowers tall and expanding in front of them, and Hyrule’s land calling to explore and research, he says they can find their home together.

“Look, Link, I can see the castle from here!” Zelda shouted above the roar of the train engine and wheels grinding against the metal tracks. She leaned out of the cab as far as she dared, mindful of her very physical and very mortal body.
But it just felt so good to let the wind catch her hair and sting her eyes, to cough from the burning coals, to help Link with the engine until her hands were dirty and her limbs burned. All were proof of her body and the heart that beat within it.
The castle—her home—drew closer. Link expertly navigated the train into Castle Town station. The train expelled a last jet of steam, wheels squeaking. Zelda relished the jolt through her body as the train came to a stop. She leapt out of the cab with a whoop of joy.
Link chuckled as he joined her on the station platform. Zelda grabbed his hand and pulled him into town.
“It’s wonderful to be home!” Zelda said, heedless of any of the townsfolk or guards seeing her out of the castle. She dunked her free hand into the fountain and splashed Link. He gasped and giggled, then splashed her back. Zelda marveled at the refreshing prickles of water droplets on her skin.
Zelda had only ever explored Castle Town as a spirit at Link’s side, but now every sight was a fresh experience. She smiled and waved at the people staring at her, all shyness overpowered by sheer excitement that people could actually see her. She stopped herself from trying to pet the cuccos’ feathers and ran her hands over the wooden fence instead. Even the cuccos smelled stronger than she remembered, or maybe she could appreciate all the sensations of living better.
“Hey, Link!” Zelda said, near bursting with a sudden idea. “Will you teach me the Song of Birds? When we go back to Papuchia Village, I want to try flying with the birds! I bet it would be a lot of fun to fly around in a physical body this time.”
“Didn’t you just get home?” Link teased, but he couldn’t hide the broad smile on his face. “But that does sound like a great idea!”
A familiar shout of surprise sounded over the plaza. “Oh! Princess Zelda! You’re back home!”
“Teacher!” Zelda cried. She ran and threw her arms around him so tightly he gave an oof of surprise. She loved how delightfully solid people felt when she hugged them.
Teacher huffed for a moment before patting Zelda on the back of her head. “My dear, I am so relieved that you are home safe and sound. I was so worried, I searched all of Ferrovia for you!”
Zelda winced as she let go of Teacher. “Right, you did. I’m so sorry for that, but with Link’s help, everything’s ok now!”
“The train engineer boy who said you were a spirit?” Teacher eyed Link with raised brows, but his worn face softened. “Well, no matter, you seem quite alive to me. Now, you simply must tell me where you’ve been!”
Zelda and Link shared a glance. “That’s . . . a very long story.”

A Legend of Zelda fanfiction for @zelinkcommunity event Zelink week 2026 day 7 home at last. I was going to make it a Totk story but I decide that Telink would fit this prompt.
Onboard their ship, Captain Tetra and her first mate and husband Link along with their son Flint see a large island which means the crew have finally found a land to become New Hyrule and a new home for the family along with their crew.
