Ha! No, no, no, no, it was my roommate who got engaged to her Turkish boyfriend tonight. He’s a real sweetie, and they’re so great together. They’ve already had a lot of cross-cultural stuff come up (she’s stoic-non-offensive British, he’s.... well not at all like that), but they’ve been able to handle it all really well so far. So yeah, mazel tov to the beautiful couple!
