Shintaro Katsu - Zatoichi And The One-Armed Swordsman (1971)
I may be late to the game compared to others, but I just came across an excellent fan-made short film: ZVP - Zatoichi vs. Predator (2017).
As a long-time Zatoichi fan I'm ashamed of myself for not knowing about this film until today.
Basically, it's an extended trailer for a film imagining what would happen if Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman ran into a Predator in feudal Japan. Throw in a few cyborg ninjas and a beautiful noblewoman transporting a mysterious treasure, and by the end you'll be demanding that a studio produce the entire film.
The acting and action re very good, the production design is excellent, and Shun Sugata does a fantastic job as Zatoichi. He's no Shintaro Katsu (then again, no one is), but his performance as Ichi is the next best thing.

ZATOICHI MEETS YOJIMBO (1970)
The 20th film in the long-running Zatoichi series. This is not the best one, but it is one of my favorites due to the chemistry between the stars, Shintaro Katsu and Toshiro Mifune.
