   And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;    they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.

so u got ppl speaking in tongues and doing faith healing and HANDLING VENOMOUS SNAKES and DRINKING STRYCHNINE ( ppl burn themselves too just cuz i guess )

and ppl do get bit and die. and the ppl interviewed who handle them a lot have stories of getting bit

i think richter has picked them up during church maybe 2 times in his life ( hes like 34 ) but a little more often away from services ( maybe like twenty times? )

hes never been bit tho and if he ever did hed totally go to the hospital and never pick them up again lol

and hes not into the poison drinking but he probably has family that does it

but she doesnt actually ever know whats going on and just follows richter around and tries to lick when its ok
