[[ Look, I’ll say it, most wildly popular accepted fanon is OOC trash and ends up being wildly bigoted, especially from people who don’t even keep up with the series any longer, and still want to act as if their meta on current Naruto is worth anything.

You’ve got “Oppressed people are brown therefore Sasuke should be brown” artists who refuse to see their racism for what it really is: flat out racism.

You’ve got people who think the girls are queens and should have their feet kissed every single day, erasing or ignoring the flaws that make them people, or pretending the men in their life are the problem, and not them. (Even shared responsibility is lost on these people.)

Youve got wildly sweeping “lol uchiha are crazy/insane” headcanons when the novels tell you word for word they were legitimately oppressed and the ones that are the most famous for this behavior are less than a handful and aren’t treated for the trauma they face or are manipulated by others, of course they’re going to act in ways that don’t make logical sense.

You’ve got “Naruto isn’t diverse enough”, despite the series being based off east asian mythos that even includes some chinese aspects (such as clothing and fighting styles) but no, Suna is the Middle East now and Kiri is… Hindu?? Also, Kumogakure WHO?? idk them, any pale skinned character in Naruto is a White American to me now.

      Parties like this were never a pleasant affair for something like Bucky. It wasn’t enough that humans looked down on everything like it was underneath them, the world was sitting on an odd cusp between kit’s being the disgusting bane of the earth, and the one thing in high demand in High Society. A status symbol as such, or perhaps just another object kept around the house so everyone else knew exactly how rich the owner was. 

      For Bucky, ever since he had been bought from... a place he struggled to remember, he had lived the majority of his short life down in the basement. He was only allowed out when the older Master needed some entertainment in the bedroom, or when the younger Master wanted to prove they actually owned something as rare as a kit. Any attention was sadly soaked up by the kit, who grew so hungry for the simplest of interactions that he would take every blow, every insult and prod in the pure hope that he would be able to show how good he was.

      Other than that, parties like this were the only time he saw other parts of the house. Spiralling staircases, cases of ornaments and weapons, fancy bone china decorations, alcohol and noise; a far cry from the dark seclusion of his usual residence. He was seated on a cushion near the stairs, out of the way but within eyesight of anyone who maybe want a glimpse. No one would know how lonely the kit was considering he accepted every stray pat and note of affection that came his way, eager to do things right.

Izuna never had much of a desire to herd his younger cousins across the compound, and yet, he found himself stuck with that duty almost every day. That meant he knew the younger generations of Uchiha quite well. At least, those with the closest blood-tires. First cousins, mostly. Izuna was only a couple of years older than most of them, and yet, he felt like an ancient man compared to them. None of these cousins had been old enough to crawl by the time he made his first kill.

Now, most of them were attending an academy for shinobi. What an audacious notion.

Among the herd of teenaged Uchiha, one in particular always stuck out like a sore thumb to Izuna.

People said that little Sasuke looked like a perfect copy of Izuna, but that thought was ridiculous. He was not one of Izuna’s numerous children. It was nothing but coincidence and gossip. They didn’t look that alike.

And they certainly couldn’t be more different in personality.

Being away from the others was difficult enough but knowing that he'd helped contribute to this... That was worse. He didn't know where Ignis, Gladio, or Prompto were and he couldn't begin to guess. But he had Sasuke with him.

He couldn't help the way he stomped around, in fact, he wasn't entirely aware of it.

Hands were on him, spinning him, and then.. so carefully, a pair of lips were on his own. Dazed and a little confused, he blinked dumbly up at Sasuke, all his thoughts having been chased out of his head.
