Zagatile CR 6 CN Monstrous Humanoid This tall creature is roughly humanoid, with a shaggy pelt and a pair of mandibles ringing its mouth. Its legs are long and lean, and it walks on its hoofed toes.
A zagatile is sometimes called a space yeti, as they are furry humanoids native to frozen worlds. True yeti view them with something between pity and contempt, and the two species typically fight when they come into contact with each other. Zagatiles are barely sapient, living with no material culture in caves and cliffs.
Zagatiles are omnivores, but the majority of their diet comes from meat. They make little distinction between humanoids and animals when hunting. Zagatiles move slowly but steadily for their size, striding confidently on their hooves through snow that would delay and trap other creatures. One of their strangest abilities is their mastery over locks, which fall open at the zagatile’s signal. It appears as if zagatiles do not fully understand how doors and locks work, and their magical talents are activated when the creature is frustrated by a closed barrier.
A zagatile stands eight feet tall. They have long lives and slow metabolisms, and can wait a week between meals. If conditions are favorable, however, they will gorge themselves.
