Confusion was clear on Jasper’s face. He never knew what Zachary was thinking which was a rather uncomfortable place for one like him to be in. Jasper thrived when he had control of a situation and knew all the facts needed to properly deal with it.

Zachary was new to his life and societal norms suggested you must know someone for a longer time before pressing into their inner secrets and traumas– but Jasper would not consider himself to be so rightly normal. Besides, Zachary hadn’t had anyone all this time that he’s been a ghost– certainly there were things he wished to get off his chest.

Plus, Jasper was older, he wasn’t so careful with his secrets any longer, all Zachary had to do was ask and he would willingly divulge whatever the other wished to know. He was trustworthy.

The sudden knock on his door caused him to jolt, certainly not expecting anyone at this time. He generally doesn’t expect anyone at any time as he doesn’t really get visitors to begin with.

Of course at the call of Zachy he’s heading for the door, both excited and concerned as to why the other had paid him a visit. “Zachary?” He questions softly and oh so fondly as he opens the door, hit with the smell of alcohol before the sight of Zachary. He shouldn’t be so surprised but he still was a little surprised as to why Zachary was here.

Jasper snorts, only imagining what on Earth Zachary did the previous night that could have hurt his rear. The poor man had gone on a bit of a bender last night, coming home giggly and flirty as he usually did.

Jasper of course nursed his hangover in the morning but now he’s complaining of a pa– Jasper was quiet for a few seconds a hand raising to cover his mouth to stifle the shriek threatening to leave him. “…Zachary…you…hold on just…” He’s fumbling with his phone to take a picture so he can have proof.

“…We should never go to bed angry.” Jasper replies, voice quiet and doing its very best to avoid sounding condescending. It was bad enough his mouth had run away with him earlier and actually hurt his lover; it did not need to cause anymore damage.

An aging hand reached out to his love’s hands, his grip tight as he silently asked for forgiveness. How odd was it that he always seemed to be the one apologizing in the end– perhaps that was because the worst Zachary ever did was yell in his pain whilst Jasper chose the more brutal route and always managed to say the worst between the two. Or maybe it was due to Zachary’s inability to say he was sorry.

“Oh Lily...” She mumbled with a pout. “You’ve got dirt all over your cheek there-- c’mon lemme clean you up.” Softness was rare for any Hurricane but at their base, alone with their sisters, there was always some room fro camaraderie.
