Do you have any tips for ppl just starting Sai 2? I’ve had it for a while but I struggle using it, I love the brushes and customization abilities but it’s kind of weird to use if that makes sense? Also do you plan on making Speedpaints on YT again? I loved watching them when I was younger to study, your vid explaining your painting process was my fave!

I dooo plan on making speedpaints again, and I've been toying around with a full paint tool sai tutorial but that's more of the base functions of sai. I'm not really sure what you mean by weird to use :") <3 But I'll go over some layout things because, at least for me, layout is what makes a program feel weird and not nice to use.
I think one thing that helped me stick with it was rearranging the layout, I kind of hated the default where both layer and brush panels were shoveled off to the same side.
You should be able to change this at [WINDOW] > Show navigator and Layer panel on right side/Show color and tools on right side. Whichever your preference is.
Also for my own personal preference I have the colour wheel popped out (I forget if you can do this natively in sai 1 or if you'll have to go through the text files for this, but there should be an option for this in sai 2 under the [WINDOW] tab)
Second set up your keyboard shortcuts, if you go to [OTHER] there should be a keyboard shortcuts tab, here the way you assign them is you look for the shortcut (there's like a couple of squares with the different configurations; ctrl, shift, alt,) and then you assign it on the right hand tab with all the menu and brush options. For brushes you can double click them and then assign them a key. You can also assign multiple brushes the same key it will just filter through them in order. I'm an avid shortcuts user so this is super important to me lol.
One important shortcut is [CTRL+A] which I've set to ADD LAYER instead of the usual select all. But I work with a lot of overpaints, so this may not apply to you. But it makes my life so much easier...
And lastly, I abuse the fuck out of the TAB shortcut, this should be default but if it's not, it should be set to Show All User Interface Panels. Being able to hide the interface and just draw is really nice. Especially if you have robust shortcuts for your brushes, you can just draw and draw without the interface bothering you!
